The Bluesmobile

I gotta tell ya'll, there is some great guys over on the blumo board! I was talking with a buddy about getting the driver side dog leg off his parts car. It went from dog leg, to whell arch, so on, and so on. He sent me these pics today. Hell yea!! Picking it up end of this week!

All the exterior metal, and rocker panels are solid! The car sat for years, and the floor boards withered away. The whole underside was trash. A moment of silence for her. :angel5:

But some of her will live on with mine.

Is the new tranny still going strong? I hope you've been having fun withe the bluesmobile

New tranny is doing good so far. I feel bad... I havn’t been enjoying it as much as it needs to be. Its been a garage queen the last year or so, going out only a couple times. I took her out for my Christmas work party a month ago, and she did good on the hour and a half ride. Also finally gave her a bath the other week. She was nasty!! She still needs a couple things here and there.

I’ve been taking a break from the cars, and enjoying the trains a bit more lately. lol

I believe what is left of that car is sitting in my field

Really!?!? That poor car saved my butt quite a few times!! I have a bit of parts from it on mine. Kind of a shame. The car was well loved in previous years. It ended up in a field for a couple years, and rotted out the floor. This is what ended up making it a parts car eventually.

Great looking Bluesmoble. Nice job on no small undertaking! I love it!

Thank you!!

Glad to hear about the tranny. I've seen the stuff on the trains lol. Pretty cool.

I'm busy looking through your 96 RAM thread. I have a 96 that was my Dads and hope to do a little to it or at least get started identifying how bad the body rot it has on drivers rocker/lower door is. Nothing special or fancy but it is a 5 speed/manual and not many options. Has all vinyl seat interior, roll up windows, etc. It does have A/C but not too much else ... I love it.

Sweet!! Hope you are able to get it fixed up. I love my 96. Such great trucks! Just keep that dash hidden from the sun!! LOL.

If you need anything let me know. I’ve got a buddy down here with a plethora of 2nd gens. (the dually, and the 96 came from him). Also have a buddy up in MI who may have a few bits here and there.

What left of her still exists! Maybe someone will need the roof someday!

Thanks man. Main thing I'd like to score is a good rust free drivers door and hood. The truck's color is white ... what's left of the paint haha

Dash and door panels are good shape. Seats too except drivers out edge is torn from years of sliding up and into it. A/C still works or has been so far. Runs reasonably well for having old gas in it and over 200K on it but I do put in some gas treatment before the winters. I only drive it every other weekend (other than winter) or so when I go to the storage (that's where it' at). I daily drove it for several years until wife got newer car and quit driving the 99 Durango ... now I drive that but miss the truck. Carpet and headliner are crap but otherwise except for drivers seat out edge in good shape.

Main issue is the rot in drivers rocker panel and a little bubbling starting around rear wheel area. Also paint has burnt off hood, fender, and roof ... probably started from hail damage on them which also probably cracked clear coat and the paint which on this vintage is not that great for holding up anyway I think.

Oops sorry for putting all that in your bluesmobile thread

Yea, the paint on these don’t seem the best for sure. Clear coat seems to go quick.

A door, and hood should be easy getting here. Luckily there is a plethora of aftermarket patch panels for these!

All good! Thread has been dormant for a while.

Way to destroy yet another 74 dodge and turn it into a lame me too "lamemobile" for all that effort you could have restored it with a hemi crate engine. Thats all.
