1970 Chrysler Sport Fury 16' w/85 HP outboard - $1800 (Santa Barbara)
Appearing in this magazine article (4 Wheels And A Keel), this 2-owner 1970 Chrysler Sport Fury open-bow boat has an 85-hp Chrysler Magnaforce 3-cylinder outboard with CDI ignition and sits on a factory Chrysler trailer. It was sold to the original owner in late 1969 by a Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth dealership in the Central Valley and has lived on the South Coast all its life. It starts and runs well and requires no special care and feeding - just put premix gas in the 6-gallon steel gas tanks and go. Easy to tow, launch and retrieve. Top speed is about 35 mph. The 16' hull is called Chrysler's "Cathedral Hull" which was introduced for 1969. It rides well, is stable and dry, and has a lot of interior room. The engine is electric start and has electric chokes. The cooling system functions properly and the lower unit was recently serviced with new marine gear oil. The spark plugs were changed last summer and the carburetors and fuel lines were cleaned with parts replaced as necessary. The trailer has new bearings, new Bearing Buddy immersible marine covers packed with marine grease, and new 6-ply C Range Carlisle USA Trail tires (3 including the spare) which are excellent. The trailer retains its original California black plate and the selling dealer's original metal license plate frame. The hull color is called Pirates Gold and the interior is white. A white bimini top is included but not shown in the photos. Boat registration is paid through 2019 and the trailer is on a permanent PTI sticker. Instruments in the boat include a tachometer and temperature gauge, both of which operate normally. The boat has a combination ignition/choke switch and key, which works properly. All lights and the hitch and winch on the trailer work properly as well. Clear Calif. titles for both boat and trailer. This is an older boat and not perfect but it is a great affordable classic that still functions and tows as well as a new boat. Call 8zero5-57zero-36zero5

That boat is worth a lot more than $1800 unless there is something very wrong with the boat.

Look at how flat that bottom is, you’ll need the 85 horses to skip across the tops of the waves or you’re going to be in for one hell of a ride!
Calm waters is where you’ll want to be with this one.

Like a mountain lake ?

Definitely a lake boat based on the hull design. With 85 HP that boat is going to be quick and a lot of fun. Wouldn't be surprised if this boat, when on the trailer has very little if any tongue weight based on past experience with a similar sized boat with a 70 HP Chrysler outboard.
