Can anyone yell me what these letters mean on the i.d pad? It's a 440 engine.

Can you provide a picture of the casting numbers on the side of the block?

2536430 Chrysler - Dodge - Plymouth RB 66-72 440
3698330 Chrysler - Dodge - Plymouth RB 73-78 440

T is for 1963, and 4T is for 1974. Was the engine machined ever?

Well, here's my 2-cents....
a. It's a 440
b. They didn't make 440's in 1963, so that's not it
c. I'm not a "numbers guy", so I can't say 1973 or 1974 unless I saw the date on the block (also on the side of the block)
d. If it's a '74, it will be a cast-crank engine (unless out of a 4-speed car), so it will have a 2" wide harmonic balancer that says "cast crank" on it.
e. If it's a '73, it will have a 1" wide harmonic balancer...totally symmetrical in appearance is a "low performance" version & if it's 1" wide with an "offset weight" in the center, then it has the "six pack" rods.
f. If it has the six pack rods AND two extra holes, on the deck surface, towards the bottom of the head, below the cylinders, then it's a '73 "motor home" block

That's all I've got

Are '73 truck blocks the same as a car block?

Yes, except industrial.
73/74 should both be cast crank unless it is HP or motorhome. Then it may have 6pack rods and forged crank, dampener will be thin but have a counterweight on the face, toward pulleys. Not sure about some of the letters, as long as you do not have the Maltese cross your fine (indicates oversized lifter bores, bad news).
Should have a E if cast crank after 440 so you might have those goofy rods, not really popular these days.
Picture of the dampener would help.

How about marine engines?

According to www.440source.com/partnumberinfo.htm the first number is the decade 1 - 50s 2 - 60s 3- 70s, second number is year so it's a 1973 casting.

Others can add their information but you appear to have a 1973 440.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but just because it was cast in '73 does not mean it's a '73 440. If it was assembled in late '73 it would make it a '74 440. Yes? Isn't that why the data exists?
