Just wanted to introduce myself to the community. Just bought a 1967 Chrysler 300. Flew to New York to check it out, and it was a bit worse than pics showed but we settled on a decent price and it shipping home to me this week. In looking for parts i found a local 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom. So now I have dove into the C-Body world with 2 cars. Not sure what my plans are right now as the 300 runs and drives but has rust issues on the rear quarters an trunk. The newport is 95% rust free on the body panels so its a better body to start with but needs the tranny worked over it seems. Hopefully I won't be to much of a bother with newbie questions, but both my boys 15/12 are excited to start working on these.

Welcome! Photos?

Well you should pull that trans and rebuild it yourself. 727 is a easy one, a manual and a few questions here you'll look like a hero and they (boys) can not fear the mystery box between engine and rear.

Ask away. Just be prepared that off the shelf parts, body parts, are almost non existent. But you sound like you know that already. Best of luck.

I had not thought of rebuilding it myself. I have never even pulled a transmission ,YET. But we all have to start somewhere.

Welcome, sounds like doing the Newport first is the way to go, then you've got a car to cruise in whilst repairing the 300.

The forum guys have all the expertise you require, good luck and happy motoring once a car is on the road.

Welcome aboard! I'll concur, get the Newport running and take your time with the 300. Note the differences in the two cars' mechanical bits, as there are some differences, other than between a 383 and a 440, or some different bodywork.

Enjoy!

Welcome! Enjoy working with your sons. Spending time on cars with my Daughter and Son on cars are some favorite moments for me!
