Finally got to do some driving and noticed that ibhave fuel leaking past gas cap. Is this an issue of vented cap? Do i need a non vented? It doesnt seal very tight and im guessing at 50 years old its a little worn. I have a new replacement tank installed and new filler neck grommet but original filler neck. Anyone know what the replacement should be before i order wrong ones online

Fyi make sure it is coming from the cap, although if you haven't replaced it, it probably is the issue. I thought at first I had a leak coming from the gas cap on my 66 300. It was actually coming from the sending unit, traveling down the tank and dripping at the gas cap.

If you changed to a new sending unit and used the new retaining ring, they are crap and will not seal the unit. Replace with your old retaining ring and the new gasket. I dealt with this for a year until I figured it out.

Thanks. No im very certain its straight out the cap. Ordered a non vented cap. Thanks guys
