Goodyear Polyglass GT-s. Any idea what they may be worth?

real nice old "polysteel" ancestors.

could be a couple of grand ... to the right person with an original/restored to original car. they would be for "show only" -- not even casual driving at low speed --as they are probably (as bias ply glass-belted tires) almost 50+ years old?

useful life of a tire is a decade. even if no dry rot is visible, the science confirms its there, particular these ancient pre-radial era tires let alone modern rubber compounds of the past 20 years.

no way they could be driven on .. strictly for trailer queens that are otherwise original. careful mounting and inflating them too given there age.

oh, ya might wanna confirm their build date .. that might help folks who may be interested in matching the year to the year of their particular vehicle.

good luck chief.

the F60-15s are available as repros. They are about a Grand for a set. So decent (not too old) used ones have a certain value.

If they are originals they are just something worth if they are really mint and have the correct date code on them for the show car needed. But I do not see a high value.

The ones advertised from Dan (H70-15s) are a different story as no repros in the correct size are available

I didn't know that there were any events that a C-body would be shown that judging would even look at date codes on a tire.

C-bodys didn't come with F60-15s (those are the tires John asked for an opinion). They were used on B&E-Bodys and the date code ist important if you want to get your car certified to a certain level (OE gold etc).

If you come to C-bodys the H70-15 do have a higher value as no reproduction tires are available. It is not "just" about judging but the correct look of the car. I would buy a set if I could get my hands on them priced reasonably. So I would drive my SFGT to the german Mopar Nats with its factory correct tires. (and just 10 miles to the show considering their age).

There is a extremely nice restored v-code SFGT in EB7 where the owner has two sets of wheels, too. If you are in Carlisle you will just see it with the cosmetically correct H70-15s. Not the set of radials he uses when driving it on its own power

I agree with Carsten, and most everyone else. It's about the correct look of the car.

Basically every show, aside from a local parking lot shows, have a judged class.

Try taking your car to a multi make concours with incorrect tires,...it's an immediate point deduction.

Obviously if you drive the car any distance, any tires will work fine, but to show the car on a field; only original equipment will suffice.

This makes it challenging when trying to find correct tires for some C bodies, they are very rare.

How about an L78 Goodyear Polyglas, Blue Streak, double white stripe for an imperial? Hard to find.

Yes, I agree, but my point is that you don't see C-bodies entered in those la-dee-da conCOURS events.

There’s really nothing “la-dee-da” about them,..although one may think that if they have never been to one.

(Thanks for the spell check)
