That must have been a real beauty when new. I always liked a turquoise car. I learned to drive on a '66 turq Newport that my Dad bought new.

Not running. All there ready for restoration.

I think that is identical to mine, except mine is a 4-door hardtop. Which I believe there were fewer 4-doors made. Pretty sure that's probably the Bahama Blue mine is/was... dad used a similar Chevy paint because he couldn't handle metallic paint well.
Is that a 70 though? The chrome strips are completely different than my Newport Custom.

It's wearing a '70 grill. From what I've noticed, most Newports of that era didn't have the side trim, however the odd one does. Had to check off the box when ordering and add a few bucks to the cost?

The wheel lip chrome looks like it’s from a 300. Can’t really see the rocker trim, but it also looks like it’s from a ‘70 300.

The trim on the FP6 car in the ad is standard fare for a 1970 Chrysler Newport, which this car is according to the door trim panels and taillights. The Newport Custom had a different side trim.

I never compared them side by side but I would agree that the wheel lip moldings are identical to those of a 1970 Chrysler 300. However, the rocker panel trim and lower quarter panel trim is different, as can be seen in this image of another 1970 Chrysler Newport two-door hardtop.

Ed's 4dr HT is a 1970 Chrysler Newport Custom, I guess, hence the broad belt line molding.

In 1970 all Chryslers still had vent windows except two-door HT's which came with ventless side glass.

look at the lack of pedal wear ....could be low miles ....that must have looked stunning out of the showroom

I couldn't see past the seat to look at the pedals.
But agreed, stunning when new!

Now that I am at home and a looking at the '70 brochure, I see that is the case.
