And you didn't even get any lowball offers from one of these high price classic car dealers? Yours looks like the kind they list in the mid to high teens.
I received zero bids, zero offers, and only two inquiries.
One from the tire kicker above and one from a guy who "had one just like it" and wanted to shoot the ****...
54 Watchers I suspect 53 of them were FCBO members.
No post auction low balls, either.
Wtf.... :realcrazy:

Even I, Debbie Downer, am shocked.

Maybe it's time to lower the standard $2500 Formal value standard?

Getting to think so...

This is worrisome. Fuselages are going through the roof, Slabs going nowhere, and Formals down the toilet.
Even R & M bodies are outpacing Formals. I think K-kars are, too.

I was right from Day 1 about the all Formals are worth 25-hundred.
My NYB just concluded a stint on eBay at $8k and No Reserve.
Nothing. Only one inquiry from a Fin who's English was so bad I suspect it was really @Carmine ghosting me.
8k!

I would have included references to Lincolns and ballast resistors before offering 2150€.

As a Formal worshipper and an admirerer of all things Formal, I have zero interest in this car except for it's journey to its next flip to see where it goes.
90% of my distaste is because of the seller himself.

I thought you were the Formal whisperer. My mistake...

I don't think he mutters too much.

You're correct, Peter. I don't keep it barely audible or to myself.

Maybe we are not hitting the correct market for the Formals. When I drive mine to work and our visiting Asian clients pulls in with their tour group, they all take the obligatory photos next the the company sign in the lawn, then swarm the 78 for photos. If it is lunch time, I go out and let them sit in it and start her up.

As a designer, I can’t help but think that this is a reaction to a design being more meaningful than that of an appliance.

I think they like it because it’s not a car, it’s a statement. It’s a projection of who you are and represent to yourself and others.

To get that level of “design” today you have to go to the extremes of the market both high and low. Everything else are just “Genericas” that current lack of taste and regulations require us to like.

That’s why I like old cars and why I think others do as well. There are exceptions but rare....

Cadillac seams to have come back from the brink and their sales are showing it. Now if they could just give them names rather than production codes....

Sorry for the rant.

I have 2 Formals and believe me sometimes I wish they were more valuable....but they aren't....plain and simple! A few of you guys know what's going on here. The seller of this car.....who knows nothing about these cars.... has "Flipper Fever" and is trying to unload this thing before the next market crash or economic downturn!

I get the same swarms wherever my "Nice Lincoln" goes.
Their love affair ends when it's time to open the wallet.
If you want admirers, have a hot hooker hang off your arm. You lose way less money.
