How many miles do you put on your C body??

The Boab .....lessee....2018 saw her everywhere eastern seaboard and the maritimes. So when drivong out of town she is thw DD. Lol.
Between May and September,
Almost 8000 miles!!
She still has a lot of driving to do this summer. After being off the road for 44 years she is doing a lot of catching up!

See y'all at the Midwest FCBO show and Moparfest!!!!

My 1969 300 convert. logged 2200 miles including the 2nd Annual FCBO Midwest C Body Show. Mostly weekend cruises and car shows.

I've put about 20k miles on my Royal Monaco since Oct 2016. It was undercoated (probably when I was 4). I've sprayed the under body with oil and make a point to wash off the salt when temps get above freezing. It never sees the garage because that's death to a car in winter (rust is active above freezing).

It goes 60 miles a day round trip. The rear defroster works occasionally. One of my power lock solinoids crapped out months ago. The FM side of the radio tuner loses the station unless you push on the knob. Speed is the difference between filling after 4 days or 5. Paying $2250 buys a lot of gas before I get near the cost of something that depreciates like a rock pushed off a cliff. In every other aspect, it's been a great car. In fact, I prefer the HVAC to my 2013 car. It is completely original with the exception of an Edelbrock carb and wear items. I run mostly Kroger brand gasoline with no magic potions.

And feel no shame for calling a spade-a-spade. It stands to reason that vehicles wouldn't become commodities overnight, so there are exceptions to this new rule even in 2019. But anyone with eyes can see the trend.

When I bought my 73, I got it back on the road and put 175 miles on it that summer.....out of my 4 Cars that's the only one I've put any mileage on.

My previous daily driver and now summer truck has 305k on it, my daily driver/tow vehicle/winter beater has 180k but I've put 45k of that on in just short of 2 years

My NYer in the last 18 months has gotten about 6500 miles. 8 of those months the car was in storage so it’s safe to say double that.
My Fury has gotten maybe 500 in the last 7 months. Sometimes through snow. Strictly out of salt.

Between 2014 and 2018 my NYB racked up about 60,000 miles on an original "survivor" type of car for work and pleasure. It wasn't easy with all the required maintenance on top of my living situation that didn't provide a dedicated place to work on it. I also did several big projects on the car during that period to make it more road worthy, such as the AC system, intake manifold, exhaust system, gas tank (x2), valve stem seals, radiator, and front end rebuild.

The car was dependable and never left me stranded during that time, only because I was constantly working on it to prevent that.

I'm worn out from all the car work and the stress to keep it on the road, plus it contributed to the demise of my marriage, so I am glad to have a company car now and leave the NYB for pleasure. Was it worth it? I don't know. I probably wouldn't do it again.

Update: I started saving my gas receipts when I got the car, to keep track of the mileage, and it snowballed. This is probably 1/2 lb. worth of heat paper. This is completely ridiculous!
I didn't count the number of receipts, the cost, or the gallons to date (and I probably won't).

I have a 1970 Imperial 2dr that I drove daily in fair weather. roughly 6000 miles each year.

Besides that I do have my other C-barges I use to go to car shows and all other kind of stuff including a lot of long distance trips including foreign countries (sweden, england, NL, Belgium, switzerland, denmark).

I roughly drive 18-20000 miles a year total with all my old Mopars

Carsten

I wish I drove it more. The problem for me is the cost of 91 octane ethanol free gasoline.

I'm not sure on the mileage for each, but between the Imperial, 300 & R/T, my hi-octane carbon footprint costs last year were $2522. There was an increase in price for fuel last year, (taxes & for reformulated fuel cost) when compared to the 2017 prices.
The "reformulated summer blend" excuse Illinois pawns off as the reason for the spike in fuel costs are BS. IMO, it's just another way to gouge us.

I don't drive my Fury nearly as much as I would like to. Having the time to do so is the biggest factor. I only used 14 gallons of gas last year. I'm always busy doing things around the house or keeping mine & my daughters daily drivers maintained, all with over 120,000 miles on them. Here in SW Pennsylvania the car cruising season is from mid April to late October. Those months go by too fast.

I've had mine 5 summers now, about 10k all together. I'll drive it until the salts on the roads and start up again after a couple good rains have washed it away. Some years are better than others, I've driven into December a couple times.

The only rule I have is I won't drive any of my classic Mopar's in snow or salt.

Hey, I drove mine yesterday - back and forth between shop and garage so I could get the bobcat in the warm spot the beast usually has.

Okay, you said miles - I made about 80 feet............. :icon_fU:

I got my 73 Fury in July of 2016. It had 67,000 miles on it then and by this July I figure I will have about 88,000 or so. That’s close to 7,000 a year. It’s my only ride though.
