I probably should have mentioned that there's something quite unusual about this car.

1972 Fury with 400, Black vinyl top with buckets and console. That is a cool find! Please share more pictures.

It’s more than just a fury. Is it a VIP? Sport hardtop roofline Green interior, white car black vinyl top

Boostedvan is the winner!

A 72 Fury Gran Coupe with console and buckets.

I've never seen another '72 C with a console. Sadly, the car is total junk. It was quite rusty when it was parked in 1989, and now it's falling apart. Certainly an oddly optioned car, ordered new by the father of the guy I got it from. Though it has a disc brake master cylinder, it's actually got front drums. I always thought discs were standard by '72, so I'll have to check on that.

It was a difficult extraction, as the car was sunk down to the frame in the dirt with four bad tires, and there were no keys to unlock the steering. A friend of mine is the one who made the deal on this, but all he wants is the console. I get the rest, though there aren't all that many good parts on this one.

Neat car, good score. Too bad it’s done in. I have a headlight motor from one of those.

Are the front arm rests any good?

That would've been a really cool car back in the day, and rare having buckets/console in it. I'm surprised that was even an option still in 1972. Too bad its so rotted and beyond repair. There are still some really good parts on it though. The hidden headlight assembly, washer bottle, door panels, steering column, marker lights, 72 400 block, and whatever trim is in good shape.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

72 last year for frt drums as standard equipment.
Disc brakes standard across the board in 1973.
Power brakes optional but standard on wagons.
Slant six A bodies were stuck with the poverty frt drums.
Disc were it was an option but again standard on A body V8
G'Day!

Yeah still a ton of usable parts....I like to also scavenge as many nuts, bolts and fasteners as I can as well. But it all depends on how much room you have to store the stuff taken off the car, and how long you want to sit on it before it sells. ;)

Oddest thing to me is that the washerbottle looks like new while the rest is rusted out.. That part is probably worth more than the rest of the car

Except for trucks. You could still get drum brakes on trucks.

What a shame, you can see where it's cracking in half. Front fender and door body mouldings are Waaaaay off.

Very weird it has no power brakes yet a very fancy interior. A car that size would be a bear to stop with no power brakes and a big block.

Where did you find it Jeff? Any back story?
