Splash shield question for 69-71 300, please.

I've been installing Detroit Muscle's excellent Mega Shield Kit. Mopar C Body 70-71 Plymouth Fury & Sport Fury MEGA Splash Shield Set Everything is a flawless fit, until I came to the final "piece de resistance"....the A-arm shields.

Here's a pic of my fenderwell opening, and a pic of the DMT item. Obviously it's not right. I got with Jim F. at DMT today, and he doesn't know what the heck is going on and asked me if I or any of you guys have a good pic of the correct shield, out of the car.

I'm guessing that this Mega Kit for the Plymouth model uses the A-arm shield I've pictured below. Otherwise, everything else in this kit has been perfect for my 300 Maybe because these A-arm shields are correct for a Plymouth and not a "Torsion Quiet" Chrysler? Can anyone help DMT out (and me!) with getting a good item to template?

And here's a look at the pieces that DO fit flawlessly. And let me mention the various fasteners he provides--top shelf stuff!

Here's the rad yoke to the front valence.

And the piece at the front of the fender.

And the other items are more recognizable.

Now....if I could just get my bare nekked A-arms covered!

I know (I should say "I believe) you worked with Jim on the shoddy pad (I have it, too), but what you linked to can't possibly be right for my car. Please look at this fenderwell pic again. You'll notice only 8 holes (5 are visible). I templated it today so I can cut the stuff DMT sent me and make my own if he doesn't have it somewhere.

The installation is a little tricky as part of it lays over the control arm and clips to the stub frame, I'll get a picture of mine when I get home in about an hour.

My inner fenders look just like yours.

Yes the shoddy pad, AC firewall insulation and AC kit were from my stuff (along with some 69 Polara specific parts).

I just rebuilt my AC box using his kit. Perfect.

The shoddy pad is a little to "shoddy" for me. The fit and finish is flawless, but the jute and lint is awful. I could see using it for a full restoration with the dash out, but it's a mess trying to get it in an assembled car [I did see your pics on your website] I cut the pad up and used a few pieces, mainly behind the glove box. The rest of it was tossed. Too messy, too much work to get it right. But....DMT was right on target with fit, for sure. I suggested to Jim that he finds a neater, easier, modern material for those of us who aren't concerned with a judge looking under our dash for OEM insulation.

You might be surprised, walk it on from the rear, it looks like it might balloon out over the control arm, a different piece than the one I posted but said to be correct for some cars.

You might be surprised, walk it on from the rear, it looks like it might balloon out over the control arm, a different piece than the one I posted but said to be correct for some cars.

I'd be surprised all right, cuz I tried the "walk" yesterday. I'll have another look, but everything on the DMT piece has sharp angles (and 9 holes) whereas my opening and the recessed channel that it fits in is curvy.

And the item you linked has 12 fasteners. I ain't got that fo' sho.

Well, that's not what DMT sent me in the Mega Kit that I linked above. And you can see in that link that the A-arm piece is clearly different from what kit you linked to. How about a clear passenger side pic, please?

So, unless Big John says otherwise, I'll have to get back to Jim and have him send me what you have.

Here's a pic that Jim sent me. It's what he used to make a 70 300 kit. The old A-arm shields look very similar to the ones in my Mega kit, so maybe Big John is right. Weird.
