World of Wheels pics

Beautiful pictures! It is unfortunate that so few C-bodies appear in these shows. I guess the restoration crowd finds it easier to buy all the bolt on glitz. Then you get a nice Chrysler 300 and the builder tries his best to make it look like a pimpmobile. These shows just frustrate me so I no longer attend and that makes your pictures that much more important. Thanks again!!

BTW, your friends car, I love the exhaust ports, pure class!!
:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This was some custom airbrush painting on a ‘69 Chevy van and gas tanks at the show.

A few more random pictures. The first one is from the “Tuner” area upstairs on Saturday only. I don’t know the make or model of the car but I sure like the hood ornament.
The Semi Truck is supposedly his daily work vehicle with Texas plates.

My buddies had this rig there and I made up the poster board, along with the other decorations for the display. Saturday was extremely busy and here’s a view from the cab. Sixpkrt, Congrats on your friend Dennis’s the top 20 award for the ‘69 Convertible concept Super “Wanna” Bee. It was stunning!

Anther friend of mine had his newer Mustang with Lambo doors in the tuner section before, but he has since sold the car.
I didn't go on Saturday, but I remember these young ladies, and other models were getting a lot of attention the last time I went to that part of the show.

Dennis likes the resto-mod car scene, and that's cool. He's had the 68 Dodge for 14 years, and it was at Platinum for possibly 2 or 3 years if I recall, maybe longer. Some serious coin went into that build. I too like how the car turned out for him after the build.
I think he once told me the only original body part left on the car is where the windshield is. AMD metal everywhere else.
The D500 and 63 Plymouth were nicely restored too. Glad it was void of any customization like most the other vehicles had.

So many bad decisions on this one.:wtf:

Thanks for posting all these pics!:thumbsup:

Yeah, I'm sooo over the flat paint look. All that work put into a car yet the paint is duller than my Monaco's 30 year old Maaco paint job.

More models were expected that Saturday night.
The paint jobs on both of the Reynolds & O’Brien combo is actually 40 years old. They were buffed out by a friend Scott and then hand waxed by the cousins & friends. The Belve will be at the Show at Chicagoland Speedway Rte 66 August 10th or 17th and raced at Union Grove, Wisconsin on June 14th.
