That Fury is posted on several Facebook forums, last price I saw a couple days ago was $2800 obo. I have purchased a car from the seller, he's a straight shooter and honest person. If you have questions on the car he will give a fair description. And I do believe he is a member here.

I don't think $2800 is terrible, considering the rarity. But if all a guy wants is a Fusey F3 4dr hdtp, this one's a poor choice. He'd be better off spending more $$ on a better car, one with less pedigree.

As for the engine oil spatter, the biggest concentration is on the HVAC cover. I wonder if it burst an oil pressure sender or something?

By the looks of this engine, it has not been any where close to to running in a very long time, burst sending unit can cause this type of firewall spatter, but the engine would have to be running for that to happen. More likely somebody got sloppy dumping oil of some sort down the intake throat to try and free up a stuck engine. A/C compressor is also missing, someone may have cut the low side line and sprayed refrigerant oil from that.

Yes, the oil on the carb location doesn't fit my theory. But for someone being sloppy trying to dump oil wouldn't explain such tiny spots on the fan (the front side, at that), rad hose, pass-side exh manifold, etc - without the intake manifold being completely doused.

The dizzy cap is off, I wonder if this was a drill-shaft oil pressure check gone awry? Done in the attempt to circulate oil? (not that it would help in the cylinders at all)

Regardless, we'll never know unless the person who did it tells us.

I think a member of the forum just bought this car, hopefully he will get it home and report back on this car's more interesting features.

This time the valve covers are back on and the interior pic's are not there. Probably just as well, the FB ad with the interior pics looked like raccoons had been using this car as a party house.

Dave

Yea looks like he hosed it down too. I read in his FaceBook ad of last month that there's nothing special about it anymore as the tranny's been swapped, he thinks it has a 440 manifold, no HP stamped on engine pad, open rear end etc.

(edit) try different readable pics.

Looks like an interesting project car for a decent price.

This forum has always been that way. As you get older you lose patience is all. Overall still the best old mopars forum on the web IMHO.
And as you go through more cars, like a lot of us do, your personal valuation of similar cars can often drop, because of all the other examples you've come across. And it can raise for very nice examples, but they are seen less frequently, would we all complain about the ones we do see.

I would buy this if I still lived on the north side of Houston. Looks a lot better after cleaning it off. Thought it was a rust bucket at first. I'm sure it has some but the quarters don't look to be swiss cheese. Needs tlc but easier than my New Yorker was. Had to weld and grind for a long time to resurrect my baby. Also found accident damage that was poorly repaired. Had to replace the left tail light housing and a chunk of the quarter panel. Learned how to use lead to fix it right. This one looks like all it needs is sanding down and painting. + interior and engine work. Knew a mexican guy that could restore seats to like new condition with leather. Here's a photo of his work. I rebuilt the door and quarter trim panels with a sewing machine I bought on ebay. Salvaged the trim off the old rotten ones. You have to think outside the box with these old mopars. Someone mentioned making parts, I am looking into working with a 3D printer to make a few items. Came across a company called Dakota Digital, looking into putting their cruise control in but have to make a mount to go where the original knob sticks out of the dash for the switch panel. Getting to be a long post so I'll end for now.
