He said it was sold to Canada after the auction and just a few hundred less than the asking price on E-bay...
I offered 5K just before the auction ended and that made him mad.

So he had to get back to me and brag about how he got more from a gentleman in Canada.

Could be so, since the CL ad is gone...

5K was a reasonable offer IMO and I was ready to offer even more, but his reaction made me lost interest.

I wonder how many times his kind of sellers loose money because of their lack of manners?

Typical flipper. Difficult seller, poor photos; I would never be interested. Looking at what photos there are, rust issues in the roof and package tray due to leaking vinyl roof. The sail panels are probably 'ghosting' due to moisture on the leaded seams between the roof and quarter panel. One to definitely stay away from!

Yes, it's a big request.

There's the camera settings, the lighting, taking the photos to be developed (do you need 1-hour processing?), getting multiples in 4x6 size, dropping them in the mail to interested parties. Lots of work, I wouldn't take pictures of anything less than a $25,000 car.

Wow, what year is it?? Take some nice pics with your phone and post them on an image sharing site or text them. Or have one of your kids/grandkids do it for you. If you can’t be bothered to help out someone who isn’t local that wants more pics so they can make the decision to commit to coming for an in person inspection, stay off the inter webs and advertise it on the cork board at the grocery store or the penny saver. Sheesh!! Just my .02 ;)

Not the same seller. The current owner has had the car for only a short time. He told me that he was initially planning to restore it, "but then he checked the values and even in #1 condition it'd be worth only $15k so now he's selling it." From my conversation with him last week, I believe that there may have been one more owner in between @69monaco's interlocutor and the current owner.

So he was a dumbass and bought a car to restore without any idea of value when done, but expects someone to pay 2/3 the value of a #1 car for one that certainly needs work given that the car has sat for ages. Sounds like a tool
