Well, the sparks are flying now! Both rear clips are cut. Lots of measuring and trimming now. Maybe make the graft Saturday.
Donations accepted.

That’s what I did with my ‘68 RR except I used all of the rear frame rails from the doner car while leaving the rear under seat floor pan In place(luckily it was rust free). This allowed me the luxury of many more opportunities to know that I was hitting my marks as they did at the factory and instead of a straight-line butt joint from side to side, the graft overlapped at only factory spotwelded seams. In other words no piece of the unibody was cut, it was only drilled apart at the spotwelds.

If you hadn't found that "parts car", what would you have done?

All would have been fabricated from sheet metal. (Like I've said, I hang with some talented folks). The donor car is saving me a tremendous amount of money in fabrication labor costs. Plus I end up with OEM sheetmetal.

I wouldn't be upset if Chris took on FCBO member post retirement special projects from time to time to break up the retirement boredom.

:poke:

The clips that hold the trimming at the bottom of the windshield do you plan to use them ? If not please let me know I could use them for my '61 but if you also plan to keep them as a spare I will understand
