At what point does one say "screw it!" with cars?

The last TNT at Showtime, there was a Mustang and Honda club with a couple dozen entries choking the lanes, which I have zero interest in watching.
The nostalgia drags in Orlando (Drag Strip Riot) are 1972 and back, and by far the most entertaining (IMO). Even after we broke, we stayed and watched.
BTW my car is almost ready to come to Bradenton. I just want to get it dynoed shortly to see where the power peaks, get a good tune and we will go racing. Work has been astronomically busy.
The new brakes are a good thing too.
 
i made the decision at 50.. no more cars.. started really trying to sell them at 45 however.. [2010]... mostly because i had so many [over 40] .. luckily most went fairly quickly to demo derby guys [nobody else stepped up] ... have 2 left to get rid of 69 vip and 71 sport fury GT... then have a 70 340 challenger half done and the 70 GT i will finish.. thats it!.. hope to be done by age 60.. in 6 years
 
Sometimes I feel the same way however I look at it this way. If I didnt have them would I miss them and my answer would be yes. I have had this feeling before and sold cars and regretted it. The interest comes and goes and it sometimes is months and months before I even touch one of my cars and then something clicks and I get back into it again. I have health problems so I do the work I want and can do then farm out the work I cant or don't want to do. Yes it costs more but keeps my sanity. Cars are 73 Duster not going after a transmission rebuild. 1958 Imperial painted but waiting on chrome, 1942 Dodge Truck accumulating parts to do a 5.7 Hemi, 545RFE and dana 60 dual wheel swap. The truck may never get done but thats my plan. Your not alone Patrick and I get it.
 
I'm checking in at 52, willing to admit sitting on the couch doing exactly nothing appeals a lot of days... No old cars at all at this point, planning on rebuilding a small collection.
Unless I win the lottery and can hire a full time mechanic where I can say 'here, do this..'.
That's not happening, so I never stray from the three I want to add to my world and not more.
Hell I might get one and say its enough, but I'll check in once it's in my driveway

I do have the house now, but not too much time for the cars in Exchange.
Right here it is literally impossible to have contract work done that doesn't involve putting up a house from grond up. There is so much more worthwhile Projects available in my area you have to do the chicken feed stuff (read high four to low five figure contract work) by yourself. German reliability and workmanship, screw it if you get some things done around here it's done by Portugese, Romanians, Turks.
