Would be nice to see the fender tag. . . Car is a little too rough at $6K, but if its a NC car with no serious rust issues, it could bring half that.

Okay, I gotta ask, why would you say $3k for it? Is it the year, options, or what?

Well. . . The photos are limited, but they do show rust in a lotta places, which could point to more serious problems. Even if the car checks out as regards rust, there is a lot of work and money required to bring the car up to let's say a No. 3 level: proper paint job = $10K, engine rebuild = $4-5K, new dash pad = $1K, transmission rebuild $1K and all the other miscellaneous krap (suspension, brakes, fuel system, exhaust, etc.) that will surely run up to another $5k. And that assumes the interior can be cleaned up and saved. . . We are now at $20 to $25K, and that would be top dollar value for the car. So, even a $3k offer is somewhat charitable. No way $6K.

Holy s#/+ at that steering wheel. Looks like most of it got burned off when he was cooking expensive North Carolina meth!

I like it, just not enough. It's the kind of car I used to find on the farm roads in Washington save for the price. I could never pay that much for that particular car.
I've seen ones in worse condition that I'd pay 6K for due to options and I've seen ones with less desirable options that I'd pay 6K for due to condition. This car only carries weight for me because it's a 66 300, none of it's particular characteristics beckon me.
I think the seller would generate a hell of a lot more interest if he listed it at 3,500 to 4,500. However if he's actually considering getting north of 5K, he's got some work to do.

That would wake you up! I found out how fun a black car can be in the sun.
My parent's car for the first 5 years of my life was a 70 Chevelle with a black interior. I decided back then NEVER to own a car with a black interior. Getting in that thing after a summer day at the lake was EXCRUCIATING.

I burned my arm on the door, the first time I got in it to drive after sitting in bright afternoon sunshine.

Here in AZ black, white, doesn't really matter. 150 in the black car or 140 in the white. Maybe 2nd degree burns instead of third. :icon_fU:

It's called the quality of the car for the price they're asking. What makes you think it's worth 6K? Would you pay 12K for this fine specimen of a rare Pontiac wagon? I wouldn't!

But the truck area paneling is in mint condition! BFD!

Or how about 25K for this rare 1 of 1, /6, whatever the F it is?

Even a white interior in a convertible is a pain in the *** (or thigh) if you neglect to place the chrome seat belt buckle out of the sun. Done it more than once.
