Switching topics slightly, I'll take this opportunity to note that those seats are extremely expensive to restore.

FWIW, I got a quote a couple of months ago from a reputable upholsterer for another '71 NYer that I was ready to buy (till the seller disappeared for a month, losing me as a buyer in the process). It came to $2,600 + materials for the front seats only. The same person's quote for a headliner in the same car was in line with others I have gotten, so I have no reason to believe it's off. I was told that "it's a big job, highly tedious sew pattern". The matelassé fabric and vinyl are available from SMS, and again are not cheap (but look really good).

By the early 70s, there were lots of crazy fabrics being used in many cars—check out Cadillac's Maharajah and Monticello. Compared to those, the Chrysler paisley is incredibly subtle. And a nice contrast to today's beige/grey/black leather on grey/white/black cars!

Hello Fellow members!
This one ended up to Baytown, Texas. I drove 560 miles per way and got her home.
Intake manifold and carburetor was taken off. Car has a very nice interior but I am in process of replacing carpeting. Seems to be she needed a good tune up. Engine turns over and all lifters and valves work. I don't see any problem with push rods, like seller told me.
She has been all her life in Lubbock area. I can find red sand everywhere as it is very windy in Lubbock and that red sand blows in the air. Let's see how is the engine and transmission ones I get that far. I sand blasted original steel wheels and they are on the car with new white side wall tires. In my opinion looks already much better.... More to come at later time. Moparilkka

Congrats on the purchase. Love that the original wheels are back on, with proper WW, thanks to you. Reselling the wheels should further lower your cost of buying this beauty.

PS: Is it GJ3? Any chance you might post the fender tag?
