Hard finding parts

Scott, I haven't seen an update for months...thought they were moving to Washington Co. ? Now it's Steele Co. fairgrounds?
I might have gotten the county wrong. I'll dig up the flyer. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yep, Washington country, thanks for catching that, don't know where I got the other county from.

Does the 1972 Dodge Polara Monaco Plymouth Fury clock package work with any other models or years?

I wonder if I'll find trunk extensions at Carlisle, and how much they'll be...

Sorry I really didn't mean to provoke anyone.
I bought trunk extensions , quarter patch panels, fuel tank and rear bumper for my 66 Polara back in 2013-2014. I could find the purchase records but I thought something was from AMD.
These are listed on EBAY if it helps.

I wasn't trying to be rude, maybe someday I'll be surprised and AMD will make something for us. I'm glad you got pieces that work, most of what's out there isn't any better than what a toddler might cobble together.

Back about 5 years when I was trying to find stuff for my car I was stunned to find out how little was offered for C bodies. I went to site after site only to find they just catered to A, B, and E bodies. I thought it was going to be easy, it wasn't.

Sorry if I came across rude or upset with your suggestion of AMD, that wasn't my intention. I was only saying that AMD currently ignores C-Bodies. No worries about provoking anyone, everyone should have thick skin on here by now. In my experience, no one intentionally is rude but posts often come across that way. It is an education when you find out that very little is made for C's.

I didn't have a problem with anyone's replies. We all know how hard it is to find parts, there aren't really enough C bodies for companies to bother making stuff for them.
I was just trying to help the guy with finding some trunk extensions without having to wait for Carlisle.

No problem at all.
I don't know if you remember but I think you bought some wheel covers and maybe a couple of other thing from me last summer.

Yep, trim pieces for the bucket seat. Those wheel covers made me buy a car to go with them!

You're unlikely to find the clean sheet metal you desire, but probably will find lots of cars for sale that could use some too.

Carlisle will have lots of northern sheet metal, not too much western sheet metal will be there... $400-500 plus shipping will probably get you a pair of lower 1/4's cut with the trunk floor extensions... but I'm on Formal pricing, they may ask more for a Slabbie.

I remembered the wheel covers but I couldn't think of what else you bought.

I bought those outer trunk extensions. They are not a drop in part. You need to do a bit of fabricating to make them work. The trunk floor side is ok but the section that meets the quarter panel is a square piece of metal. This is because the part fits several model years. Before you tear your car apart, get some cardboard and make templates from your existing extensions to use as a guide.

I patched one of my lower quarter panels by taking a straight piece of 18 Ga steel and forming the shape of the original. Took a couple weeks working on it occasionally. Used a large diameter piece of pipe mounted between two sawhorses as an anvil. Using a body hammer I slowly bent it into the correct shape. The stainless trim piece was a major help getting it to the right shape. Once it was close enough I cut back the rusted area and mounted the new panel with sheet metal screws. Removed them one at a time and filled in the holes with a wire welder. Then slowly went around the perimeter with the welder and filled it in 1/4 inch at a time. Spent many hours with a grinder smoothing out the welds. Little bit of filler to fill in the low areas and you can never tell it was rusted. After painting I put the stainless trim back on and it looks like new.

Where there is a will there is a way. Take your time and Think about what you're doing. Just don't tear things apart until you have most of the parts you want to replace fabbed. If you screw up a piece while making it, start over. Sheet metal isn't expensive. Harbor freight has a lot of the tools you will need for cheap.

I ended up buying a half of a car shell from national Moparts to repair my 65 Polara Convertible. For 1000 bucks I got good rust free metal to repair all of my rusty woes. As for parts, I have been collecting good parts for 12 years now and still haven’t found everything. It’s just the nature of the beast.

I have almost decided that maybe my car doesn’t need any side trim. Don’t have a single piece on the car and the previous owners welded up all of the wholes and applied an inch of body filler to cover it up

I had replied to this thread a while ago.
I had purchased 1/2 quarter panels but wasn't sure where.
I came across some papers the other day, I got them from Nor-Am.
