The weather was nice on Sunday and a friend of mine and I decided to spend the afternoon visiting Sonora, a gold rush town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The first parking spot along Washington Street was open so I made the left turn and pulled right in. It was a nice way to pass the afternoon and I snapped a couple pictures from across the street to share.

Beautiful car!:thumbsup:

Great car in a nice setting. I'm not usually a fan of non-stock wheels, but these have a nice look and stance. THANKS for posting.

Great looking car!
Yeah, I like those rims too. Nice modern version of a Mopar Road Wheel in 17” diameter.

Does the top go down?

:poke:

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Yes, but I didn't want to leave it down while I wandered up and down the street. It was a great day for a convertible and of all the negative things we can say about California (and there are a LOT of them!) the weather here is simply unbeatable and perfect for enjoying a convertible.

Did you use the seat belt clips?
Scott, I am ashamed to say I have not yet installed them. I need to find some dye at the Nationals this year and then once I have dyed them green, I will install them. They are perfect, though, and you solved a problem for me that had dogged me since I bought the car in 2004, thanks, again. :thumbsup: When I was trying to find them I found most people had no idea what I was talking about, yet I have seen them in both 68 Chargers and 67 and 68 Chryslers in addition to my 68 Sport Fury.

Don't worry about it, glad to help you out.

Since I took some good-natured ribbing last weekend for posting pictures with the top up vs. top down I am atoning for my sin this weekend. Yesterday a couple friends and I again decided to take the old Mopars out for cruise and this time we went up to a little place named Copperopolis to enjoy the Sierra Nevada foothill scenery, the great weather. There is a decent BBQ place there called Griff's that was calling our name. We took a leisurely drive up in to the hills and arrived at the restaurant at about 1:00pm. We wound up spending the entire afternoon there as we ran in to another Mopar lover who has retired to that area (72 Cuda 340 with a 440 in it now) and you know how the time flies when you are talking cars. So, here is a picture of my Sport Fury I snapped yesterday as were about to leave, and yes, the top is down (it was down the entire day, as a matter of fact). In case anyone is interested, I also took a picture of my friends putting the top down on their 70 R/T Challenger for the drive home, and then back in Oakdale as I was about to turn off the highway I shot a picture over my shoulder of another friend's 70 340 Cuda. The Challenger is fully restored and was used by Chrysler in some of the new Challenger advertising back in 2007-2008 (yep, its that nice!). The Cuda, however, is all original and a survivor. I hope this puts me back in good stead!
:lol:
