Find original frames, get refills as I posted earlier.
I have no idea when it became normal to replace the frames, never thought about it till about 2014 when I went to get refills and had to do the research.
As noted the parts stores may have the refills but no way of looking them up, if you know the number then you are good to go. I just purchased a couple sets for my Barracuda off eBay.
The refills are still made if you have a number.

Fusies ,or at least mine, must be a little tighter. It catches just enough to stop it.
I use original frames and use 18 inch refills.

The numbers I posted are for 16", if you need a different size replace the digits 16 with the size you need.

Interesting.... Looks like an older Trico design. I couldn't find these currently listed on the NAPA website.
I took these pictures of my Anco blades today while cleaning up for a show tomorrow. These are identical to the parts diagram in my '71 and '72 Mopar parts catalogs. Anco 21-16 is the most recent (now discontinued) version of the OEM supply.
Did the supplier and design change from '70 to '71? I once owned a '70 NYer (in 1980), but I don't remember what the wiper blades looked like.

No clue what was original. I needed new blades back in '89 and just grabbed some modern black plastic jobs and ran them. No clue where the ones I removed went to. Finally got tired of looking at the plastic crap and found those NAPA ones back in 2014.

I still find it hard to believe that in this day and .age selling you a whole f...in wiper blade assembly is greener than a rubber strip with some stainless steel blades attached. Environmental my ***

The problem with wiper refills is that the refills were different width, lengths, mounts, etc. With all the different wiper blade manufacturers and styles you would need 4 aisles of wiper blade refills to accommodate all of them. It wasn't like the 1960's and 1970's when there was like 3 different wiper blades. Even in the 1980's and 1990's it was difficult to even remember which blade manufacturer was on your car except Anco I believe had their name stamped on the blade. It became easier and more profitable to manufacturers just to replace the whole wiper blade.

Don't make excuses for them. Before chain type garages became popular a state safety inspection mechanic would put a set on your car for a few dollars over what you could buy them for. Now they want to fail your inspection, put you back in the parking lot, then charge you full list price and ,3/hr labor to put them on, now you have $60 invested in windshield wipers. So now you can go to see the brain dead meathead at Advance and he will try to sell you some hideous looking things and install them for free.
