1972 Polara 4 door sedan

Oh man, double trouble!!! One and the same......... :realcrazy:
Payday night and painted women used to do strange things to me. I couldn’t wait to break my neck to spend every dime I had on some no good woman.
Given the opportunity, I’d do it again!

Well, well, well. If it isn’t the consequences of my own actions!
First, a trip to the courthouse on the banks of the muddy Ohio River...then, a $50 fill up of 93 octane.
Stop by the war memorial, then on the road to let it breath and stretch out..
The pic are not in that order but you’ll figure it out!

Lookin good, I'm still amazed how much you got done in a short amount of time. I really like the photo where your parked next to the other tank.

First day at work! It did great on the interstate at 70-80 mph running and gearing wise. It’s happy at those speeds and I’m really re-thinking going to a lower gear.
It does pull the right and I have started a different thread on that here.

Here’s where I usually park. Under a bunch of power lines where the birds can crap all over my car. I have to walk another mile or so to check in for my morning ***-tearing. See that big vent behind my car? Hot air coming out of that all the time. In the winter I park facing the other way so the hot air keeps my radiator warm for instant heat. In the summer I back in.

A little revision under the hood.
I decided that I didn’t like the chrome breather and flashy aluminum radiator looking all la-tee-da under there. So, I painted them semi gloss black. Added a goofy looking sticker to bring it back up a notch.

Great thread, and I really like the look of your car. This being said, why do you park there? The bird poop is one issue, but furthermore I would be worried that warm air + moisture = rust. Am I being paranoid?

Thanks. I park there because usually all the good spaces are already taken!
The air is dry so I don’t think there’s any threat of rust.

Sorry if I´ve missed it, but what´s the current gear ratio?
I really can’t say for sure, but, I believe it to be 2.76. It’s a 8.25” rear axle. I have a 9.25” that I wanted to put a 3.21 gear in. Also kinda keeping my eye out for a 8.75” for quick gear changes. I’m pondering if it’s worth the trouble.

Tired of all the green pics? Here’s one in black and white. I tried to make it look like an old pic but there wasn’t any angle that didn’t have something modern in the frame.

The car on the showroom floor in the background? Probably my favorite Ford ever. ‘72 Torino.

The Buick brings back memories, when I was a kid we had one like that. 69 Electra 225 powered by a 430ci Buick, ours was white with a black gut and top.

I posted this pic in another thread. Putting it here for giggles.. first person who knows what the license plate references gets a no-prize! No googling!!!

Congratulations on finishing your Dodge Polara. Nice finish work under the hood. Reminds me of justice department or FBI government issued cars. Very well done.

Thank you! That’s kinda the look I was going for. I’ve got a way to go before I’m finished. The interior looks like a bomb was detonated in it!
