1958 Plymouth Time Capsule - Hard to Believe

My 57 is restored rather than original John - but is does smell like new inside - only because I had Gary Goers redo the leather upholstry!

Here is the latest story from Hemmings..................

https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2017/...dere-finds-new-home-in-a-museum/#&gid=1&pid=1

Every story about this car is ultimately unsatisfying and full of errors. "Plans to put the car on a new frame..." (What does that even mean? It's a unibody, with key structural/functional elements integrated with the body.) How does an auto writer take such a shortcut? We read how badly it's rusted, but see photos that look better than where many restorers begin. I don't doubt it's rusty, but the internet/magazines are visual mediums... Not a damned radio show! Show some pictures of said damage! Even Mr. D-rust-o apparently never heard of promotional tools like youtube or time-lapse photography and thus blew a chance to create interest in his product. How did this not end up on one of those car reality shows? Were they concerned about preempting another stupid pro-touring Camaro build? Rant off.

Carmine, I think they should of featured Miss Belvedere on the new "show" Auto-biography on History. How much of it is staged, who knows. I'm sure a lot of it. BUT it's still interesting to hear the stories. This car would be one of em

Not that I could afford this but i wonder what the seller expects to get...

Actually the 57 Plymouth does have a complete frame. You could unbolt the body and change frames on those cars.

I noted that earlier as well, but disagreeing with Carmine usually goes off the rails for me, especially when he is already off the rails in his post. So I just let it pass. Others mostly won't notice or care anyway. But thanks for pointing that out.

Id like to see Miss Belvedere in person. Glad its got a permanent new home, Id sure like to detail what's left of her! At least clean the windows, shine up the bumpers, stainless moldings, and clean the whitewalls!!
