How many other members out there have hit their 60th B Day? This is the first one that bothers me... any positive thoughts on entering the 60's? Dave

That was a few years ago for me...... While I've slowed down some, (a lot), now that my wife has retired also life just keeps getting better.

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday, I'm not there yet but time keeps slipping away..... My father was the king of one liners and he would say regarding getting older, "It beats the alternative."

Happy 60th birthday! I'm 62 and the only good thing about hitting the 60's is I get my first Social Security check this month!

IF you're 60, that means you'd better get "your affairs in order", quickly! Retirement plan, annuities, and any other income stream you might need in the future. Pay down bills to just the monthly stuff, even doing some "advance deletions" as you can. Get your medical supplier networks figured out, too.

Buy some things you'll need later, like a reliable lawn mower (even one to ride on!), sturdy ladders, and a few other implements you might need later.

Consider "part time jobs" to give you somewhere else to be, rather in in front of the tv set (and within earshot of the kitchen).

Look for some safe and enjoyable ways to enjoy being outside. Park walking trails, for example, if any are nearby. Getting outside, when possible, moving around, can result in a generally better and healthier way to do things.

In otherwords, make plans NOW for later on. So you don't have to worry about them later! And of course, if you want a "pay raise", stay working and apply for Social Security. Pad things while you still can, before "work stops". IF still working, take advantage of any vacation time you might have.

The "Golden Years" might not be a "golden" as some might want us to believe they are, but that does not mean they can't be enjoyed as much as they can! Stay positive. Stay active. Stay engaged. AND WELCOME to the group of other semi-old "ones". Run your numbers up as much as you can!

Congratulations!

Happy birthday!!
Next month I'll be 77, much the same as 60, but with more parts showing signs of wear and tear!
:lol::lol:

Happy Birthday! 62 here and I consider it just a number. But as CBody67 has stated, stay physically and mentally active. Keep a positive and friendly attitude, nobody wants to be around a miserable old fart.

Happy birthday. Pushing my 65th and am still ticking, just a little slower and with less energy. Retirement is great you will be amazed how busy you will be.
Best part of today is you woke up and are still alive.

Happy birthday from the Motor City!:thumbsup:
