Sad news, R.I.P..

We’ll not see the likes of her again that’s for sure. She could do it all. Sing, dance, act. A true star in the old tradition. And by all accounts a class act and a decent person too. Hollywood is full of **** now. R.I.P. Doris Day. You’ll definitely be missed.

Sorry to learn of her passing Monday. She was one of a kind, of which that generation seemed to have a LOT of. She always looked GREAT driving those Chryslers in the movies and such. RIP

I first learned of Doris from watching her TV show. Here's the clip from the Season 2 opening, driving her Plymouth convertible in San Francisco.

A true legend and class act which we don't have the likes of these days.

I thought I wasn't remembering properly, but finally found it - here's Doris with her '61 Plymouth convertible in "Lover Come Back," there's a great scene in this where she drives off leaving Rock Hudson stranded at the beach at night, I remember the taillights fading out ..........

One of her movies which co-stared with James Garner (one of my fav's) in "Move over Darling" and the 1963 Imperial convertible James Garner had.... and they ran it through a car wash with the top down! I still cringe when I see it even today! Note: Chuck Connors was also in the cast.

No one will come close to replacing her. Staying nice and classy no matter what she had to deal with. We baby boomers will never forget.
One of my favorite movies of hers is "Julie," she's a semi-retired stewardess who lands a Lockheed Constellation after her jealous husband shoots the pilots and tried to kill her...ridiculous plot yet Doris Day could make it work. There's a major scene where she drives a convertible '56 New Yorker, but a couple things about it we'd say "no way."
