WANTED ALERT WARNING

You now have 180 days from the purchase date -- roughly six months -- to file a claim through paypal if you wisely used Goods & Services and not Friends & Family.

That little 2.9% + a .29 transaction fee is just cheap insurance guys! If you don't know who you're dealing with, do not consider them a friend.
BTW, the seller pays this, not you.

Anything that I've sold, I figure on paying this cost when I price the item. It's not rocket surgery.

And if they *****, I'll cough up the fee, even though they are the ones on the hook. Kinda pisses a person off that the seller couldn't figure it out to add it into their cost, when it does happen.

Yep, done that myself, but it does send up a red flag.

If the seller requests you to use Friends & Family, THAT should be a big red flag. Just re-calculate their asking price by adding the 2.9% and twenty-nine cent fee, click the Goods & Services box, and pay the amount you figured instead of what the seller asks for. Sellers have little interest in protecting you so you have to protect yourself.

Keep in mind the percentage and transaction fee are slightly different if you or the seller are in another country. (Paypal's site has full fee descriptions.)

still waiting...……..if l don't receive my goods will post his phone number for others that have been screwed over...will also be fileing complaints with credit card and paypal..….will try to have his paypal acct shut down for fraud...that will shut him down....lm gona git my moneys worth one way or the other.....

FWIW... and I have no dog in this fight... I'd keep my negative comments off the publicly viewed areas if I was still hoping for resolution. If I was ready to write off the loss, then I'd squawk and holler about it. It'd be pretty easy to read this thread and react to it, blocked or not.

Lesson learned here. I have his email for anyone who asks.
I only see this happening.

Just wanted to give an update ---- filed with Paypal, initial decline because of the poor choices they gave me to choose in my 'complaint':drama:.....then someone posted PayPal's customer service phone number (thank you for that)....ten days later a refund! :thankyou:Thank you all for your part! Lesson learned: there are some that just cannot be trusted

l have my credit card company chasein Paypal now..Paypal said no..credit card has reimbursed me for now pending a investigation....youd think paypal would pull this guys account after all these complaints....not done here by a longshot...this fucks goin down

Been with Pay Pal for 20 years, but now they are run by Synchrony Bank and the whole site has gone to crap. Basic customer service cannot help with the simplest issues, then when you want to elevate to a supervisor they "transfer you", but the call always hangs up. Two times in the past month and I've had to spend an hour or more each time to get a resolution.

I told the rep I spoke to that there were a lot of folks this was happening to and the account should be suspended- he said he would send it up the chain for suspension
...and Why didn’t I feel totally confident with that answer?
