Coming back from Bishop on the 395, they might actually get snow again tonight, crazy...

Anyways I was flying past the old Pearsonville yard and saw a faded hitachi poking up over the block wall. You all know what that means so I flipped around and sure enough a freakin bloodbath.

Used to be a couple thousand packed nose to tail back there. Now maybe a couple hundred left. One of my favorites is alive and well but who knows for how much longer. Hurt my heart to see this. I’ll never understand hoarding old cars at a wrecking yard only to end up crushing them out. Tons of rust free metal, impossible to find trim and good glass was out the there. Now it’s all gone.

Won’t say enjoy the pics. It’s more like view this sadness.

Ouch, wouldnt two hundred a car have been cheaper? :BangHead: AND they could have felt better about it at the end of the day

That's a shame! What's with the "raceway" sign? Is this adjacent to a oval track or?
There was track on the property years ago. Was able to get in there once , got a lot of good stuff . Story I got it is the yard got caught up in a bad divorce case?

You ever been to the south yard in RC? Now that one is the $#\% !!!! Lots of ran when parked old cars.

I heard the Dad was loading plucked engines w a forklift on high racking and one fell in his lap. After that the old yard kinda closed up. Their main business is as a new car wrecker so all this was just a big savings account. No idea why they shredded the stuff. I didn’t notice anything being moved but you never know. Sure looked like they’re crushing out the yard.

Here’s a few more of the pretty clouds for Doc. It was a spectacular day to be at the office.

My office.

Sadly it is an inevitable trend. Reminds me that I haven't been to my favourite yard in a few years. The 2 old guys (relative to me) who own it looked like they couldn't go on much longer back then. I need to go for a drive.

I went back to my favorite yard. The owner had sold 5000 out of 5500 cars for scrap before he died. Now the property is up for sale with very limited hours. I got some parts, but all the really good stuff was gone, as well as the vast majority of c-body cars.

Don’t wait too long, this was last summer.
