Not mine. Posted yesterday on CL by a flipper (said to have bought it at an estate sale in Missouri). Looks like the third GB2 4-door for sale in the last few months. This one looks to be the best of the bunch by a margin -- the seats look to be in superb condition, and the car is said to have no rust.

Edit: It looks like a GA4 grey, not a GB2.

PS: @Lefty71, that's another one to remind you of your '71 coupe.

With a red pinstripe……......

With the interior H7A6 (gunmetal, cloth/vinyl and a 50/50 divided front bench) and the body paint being GA4 (Winchester Grey), the red body side stripes were the only way to go, though that is quite surprising.

WOW! I actually got flashbacks as soon as I saw this post. Mine had a three spoke wheel, and different, yet still blue paisley cloth interior, but overall looked quite similar. I think I have a set of those wheel covers still.

The A/C, and the seemingly cracked dash pad, make the price optimistic IMHO. Regardless, beautiful car!

PS: what’s the dark mark in the driver’s seat?

Since you won't sell me yours, here's my chance.
Please do purchase!
Only discernible difference I note- the car for sale appears to be A4 "Light Gunmetal Grey", whereas mine is A8 "Dark Gunmetal Grey". My first '71 owned back in '79 was the lighter grey. Very handsome!

The paisley cloth was rather thin in these cars, resulting in a tendency to stretch and develop fold over "creases" with time. For this reason, I replaced my driver seat upholstery with SMS material to freshen up my interior. Recent photo of my otherwise original interior- (showing "dark" areas in driver seat where new upholstery is already creasing after only 6K mile)-

@71NewYorkMan -- Thank you _very_ much for the interior picture and for the explanation. Again, the more I see of your car, the more I like it!

Question. I most seriously looked at a '71 NYer on the West Coast a couple of months ago, and was ready to buy it when the seller stopped communicating. By the time 3 weeks later when he finally responded, work had taken over and I could not make it happen. Regardless, I had (prior to readying an offer) priced redoing the seats with the SMS materials and got a quote of $2.6k for the front seats from a reputable upholsterer used by another member. May I ask what was done to your car, and what you ended up paying? I remain interested in this matter, as a '71 (or ‘72) NYer 4-dr hardtop features prominently on my hunting list. Feel free to PM if you'd rather not post on money matters.

My advice may not be relevant. Materials came from SMS. Labor was done by a well known (and friend) upholstery supplier to Gulfstream Aerospace (headquartered in Savannah). He and I bartered our services!

Understood. I am still interested in what was done -- in my case, the upholsterer assumed that both the fabric and the vinyl would need replacing, which is what drove the price up. I was wondering whether your friend managed to replace the fabric without replacing the vinyl?

My vinyl was (is) in excellent condition. Thus- the old fabric inserts were meticulously removed stitch by stitch and the new inserts were hand sewn using the original stitch holes in the vinyl. This procedure is not uncommon in a high value E or B body restoration, but unusual in most C-body renovations. Hence, my "not relevant" remark.

Hey guys! I talked to the owner of this car earlier today. (Only 80 miles from me), It has had a repaint. He said he looked underneath and it looked clean. There are a couple minor stretched out/weathered spots on the seats and a thin/small tear it looks like on the drivers seat. The car has 111K miles. A crack in the dash and I even noticed some brownish color around the weather stripping. Chrome appears to be good. No close ups of the vinyl top. He states he's owned the car for a couple months....so beware. A good buy at $4000-$4500 but not $11,500!
