3rd Annual Midwest C Body Car Show

She's got new tires, and will get plenty of miles this weekend. Then three weeks of tinkering with the little things to get it ready for Volo. Carb got parts thrown at it, (I should have caught something I didn't, but I don't know Holleys too well) and runs better. Needs to go back to the shop for a little more cleaning and parts. Secondaries need to open, well they need to open! Carb hasn't been run much and old gas made it dirty. After Monday, it should be burnout ready!

I'm sitting im Miami Intl Airport for the next few hours waiting for my flight home.
When back, the plan is to update this post, letting eveyone know where we stand with attendance for the Volo show in 3 weeks, and to update the mgt at the museum with an updated car count on Monday.
With the turnout of C's at Mopars in the Park reaching the 30+range, I'm hoping to see some more registrations come in that puts us over 30 as well. We're not there yet, but close.
Could somebody post here or send a PM to me with the facebook counts, if there are any?
Since I haven't done anything in the last 10 days for being away, I need to get workin on the NYer carb issue so its ready to be driven for the 22nd, and make sure the Imp and 300 are ready to go too.
3 weeks will be here fast.

Well everyone, there are now over 30 cars that have registered for the Volo C Body show, with a little over 50 people coming. Thanks to all the FCBO members for keeping the information on the event active, and posting on FB.
As some of you know, the Volo Auto Museum closes at 5pm daily. They didn't run us off last year at the stroke of 5, but we pretty much packed up and were gone by 5:30/6pm.
With that said, since we have so may cars/people coming to the event, 5pm seems too early to part ways with everyone.
A little while ago I spoke with the owner at the McHenry Outdoor Theater, which is 4.3 miles from Volo Auto Museum. (it's a Drive-In theater) and told him of our show at Volo, and asked if he could make accommodations for 30 to 40 "old" cars.
To my surprise, he was very much so interested, and told me he'd have us all park together in a "flatter ground" section in the parking/viewing area, which happens to be "one of the best spots" as it was stated.
The owner also mentioned, June 22nd is going to be a busy weekend, because that's the weekend of the new Toy Story movie being released, and he's expecting a big crowd. There's a double-feature, but he hadn't selected the 2nd film yet.
The drive-in opens at 5:30pm, and he is expecting a line of cars at the enterance before they open, But...for our group, he will let us all drive right in together, through the Exit, and park in our designated spot, so that we won't have to sit in line with all the mini-vans and suv's at the main entrance, waiting to get in.
The Drive-In Admission Fee is $12.00, $6.00 Seniors/Military/Kids
This is just something I thought to do as something we all can do after the C Body show. Nothing is set in stone yet.
I'd rather be pulling in this drive-in for a Dirty Mary Crazy Larry or Thunderbolt & Lightfoot or some other car-type movie, than Toy Story, but it is what it is. At least we can all park together and not be scattered all over the parking area.
I let the owner know I'd call him by the end of the week once there is some feed back from this forum.
So let me know, if anybody thinks this is something we could do or want to do, after the show.
If only 4 or 5 cars want to go, probably not a good fit, but if there are 15/20 or more are interested, I'll make the arrangements, and lock in our parking space.

I'm unlikely to be able to extend the day into the night, but sounds fun

Anything going on the 23rd, too?

You can NOT go to work on Sunday... !
You have scars and seeing as you work in the food industry you can not go in and contaminate the food... NOPE!!
And if that excuse doesn't work then tell your boss you can't come in 'cause you have to arrange the ransom to
get your cookie maker back....
 <---- evil grin....

There is another all Mopar show on Sunday, 6/23 sponsored by the Chicagoland Mopar Connection.
The link will have the information about their show. BTW, Veterans Park in Fox Lake is 5 miles from Volo.
Their show last year was the day after our show at Volo, and a bunch of FCBO members who came to Volo did that one too.
