Hi all,

I know I'm posting up a wanted ad for Non C-body Parts, but I'm trying to help out my neighbor up the street from me. He has a '79 Lil Red Express truck he is going to soon restore. The truck has been sitting outside for the longest time, it has an engine and will run. However he does not have any parts (He is a Pontiac man, this is his first Mopar). So he is looking for any parts, such as new bumpers/trim, side decals, wooden bed etc. The damn list goes on and on. If you or someone you know could tell me where some parts are, or if you or they have parts please PM me. Thanks in advance.

Most of that stuff is reproduced, in particular the decals and wood pieces as well as the exhaust stacks. Your neighbor needs to start buying Mopar Collector's Guide and using the internet.

I'd bet everything he needs is available here:

There is a Facebook group for these trucks. Pretty active with a lot of knowledgeable members.

Not ALL of those LRTs were built the same! I'd always figured they were pretty much the same until I went to Mopar Nats in the later '80s and shot about 4 rolls of 36-exposure film on them. More variations that I ever suspected! Even "Unleaded Fuel Only" decals in French! I was amazed that they weren't all the same.

The specific LRT chrome lid dual snorkel air cleaner was on all of the stock ones. With appropriate decals.

Back then, there were few repro items for those vehicles, so what I was seeing were OEM-production vehicles. Any modifications were obvious.

SO, take extensive pictures of the vehicle as it is disassembled! Then replicate ALL of the original inspection marks, grease pencil markings, etc. as they are on the vehicle. Of course, it has the specific LRT 360 4bbl HO V-8 engine.

There might be a LRT registry somewhere, too.

As noted, Mopar Collectors Guide can be a great resource!

ALSO . . . go to the bottom of the page and link to the Pickup Truck Forums. Scroll down to the pre-'9_ Dodge Forum. Where you'll find a thread by Jumbreit on his restoration of a '79 LRT. LOTS of pages and pictures. From back in 2012.

Enjoy!
