There is an exhaust system for sale that is from a B Body. The guy says it is clocked for his '68 HP big block manifolds. I have a '68 300 and still need to buy HP manifolds. If I get '68 HP manifolds, do you think that I can get this to work?

Doubtful because of different wheelbase, length of vehicle, etc. Why don't you go on TTi's website and compare part numbers for the answer yourself?

I'd say no. The pipes go in a different path than the B body cars. tti has pictures on their site you can look at and spot the differences. You might be able to use some of it, but fab work would be needed. I love the tti stuff, I'll buy it again without question. And I'll guy from them direct, they seem to have the best pricing unless one of the big shops can beat it,which they usually don't.

umm - I have and guess what it confirmed? What I already knew. That the B body is different from the C body. My question was does anyone think this can work. Asking an opinion here, not looking for the encyclopedia answer.
Also, the pictures on TTi website say they are representative and not always the correct picture.

Thank you LocuMob - just what I was looking for. Seems like it will be alot of work.

I would say that you could make it work but you would have to cut near the manifolds to get the right angle and I'm sure you would have to cut and fit around the rear axle and I don't think the pipes would be long enough to exit the rear of the C-body without adding extension pipes.

Myself, I wouldn't do that. I would find a good shop that specializes in exhaust and have them make a set and install them. I had to do that with my 78 NYB because no one makes any dual exhaust system for a Formal. I have Flowmaster 40's on my car.

B-Body has a different driver side exhaust manifold and the port is clocked at a different angle. B-Body manifold can not be made to clear a C-Body steering gear. The B-Body is also about a foot shorter, so the short answer is no. Your exhaust shop could probably make it fit but it is probably going to be about as cheap to just get the right exhaust to start with rather than trying to adapt the B-Body setup.

I believe you just answered your own question! If you want to cut, hammer, add, hammer, shorten, weld, weld, and weld some more and have it look like crap even though no one would see it unless it's on a lift or they look under there. Sure, go for it, you only live once. But as Davea said, I wouldn't want to do all that work. I wouldn't know what the heck I was doing, would you? Good Luck

Sometimes times it's best to suck it up and do it right, nothin wrong with tryin to save a buck or 3.

When I was getting my exhaust welded up last week, I wanted some certain features. Guy said 'not a problem, it's your dime'! So pretty much anything is doable. Just depends how much you want to spend.

I went from log manifolds to HP manifolds. RH side was just a simple swap and quick weld to join the two ends together. LH side was different story. Exit angle is different. No biggie. Shop made some small, radius pieces and welded it all up.

NO! The torsion bar location is very different.

The other thing I noticed is there is a very small margin of error where the mufflers push up. An inch eother way and they won't work.
FWIW, Todd at Marsh performance was about $80 less than Chicago Connection, who was second cheapest.
