This is a 71 Newport in mint condition. All original factory Chrysler paint, never repainted. Mint original interior. 383 2bll that runs great. Dual exhaust has been added and sounds throaty at idle and quite down the road. Ice cold AC. This car is in stunning condition. $9500.00. Gary 864-325-7515.

You're right, this is the way you like to buy 'em. As beautiful as it is, this car has never been cleaned up, a little dirty under the hood. If I don't sell it I'll probably take it to Carlisle. Its a righteous car and drive beautifully. One little thing I'm having to take care of is the heater control valve, it started leaking. I thought I might could salvage the old one but it appears to be unrepairable.

I have a set of 15" chrome Chrysler rally wheels in 6" and 7" wide. What's the consensus, leave the hubcaps on it or put the wheels and black walls on it?

IMHO, it looks perfect as it is with the original wheel covers. But you might also post photos with the other wheels/tires combo, so that the potential buyers see everything. Then you can offer the car st two different prices, with / without the extra set.

As for the heater control valve, I went through the same issue on my ‘71 Monaco. Detailed solution discussion here.

If its road wheels you are referring to ....they make any car look great ....they will transform this 71 to a higher plane in my opinion

Could you show a close up of the driver seat bottom - it kind of looks like it might need some fabric replaced to be new again too? Great looking car.

Never blackwalls on this car please!

The seats are like new.

I agree on the blackwalls, it not a muscle car. A buddy of mine is a blackwall nerd......I guess he'll have to get over it.

To my surprise, some cars look better with the 6" instead of the 7' wheels. Don't really want to go thru the expense to find out. I don't know, I may leave it along.

With the wheel and tire opinion. It's a really tough decision for me to choose. I would say, keep the hubcaps on it, BUT when you put it for sale, put in the description that you have a set of Rallye's that COULD go with it.

This is the fourth time I’ve come back to this thread to look at the car. Stunning it is. Practically brand new. Worth the asking price. If I wasn’t about to put a roof on my house, I’d be there with the dough.

I have come back to view this car a couple times myself. I really love what appears to be the GJ4 April Green Metallic paint. It is my favorite color of green ever (I still have a 2 door 1971 300 in that color - last photo below). There is some chance yours might be GF3 which is called Amber Sherwood Metallic but I am thinking yours is the GJ4 (they are surprisingly close in appearance and the angle of the sunlight can affect the overall look). Could you let me know what the body code plate says in terms of color on yours (it is located just ahead of the battery tray on top of the radiator core support and the color code is on the second line from the bottom on the very left end (beginning) of the row - a photo would be even better if you have one)?

I sold a very similar car to yours, in my case it was a 300 with the road wheels back in 2017 . It was GF3. So the photos below would help show what your car would look like with the road wheels. Mine also had dual exhaust for some reason, but it too was the standard performance 440 with original single exhuast. Mine also had its factory side trim replaced with aftermarket side trim for some reason by the previous owner. It had the same interior as yours (those cloth seats were very comfortable, felt great, and looked outstanding). Mine was higher mileage at 72K, but still very nice too. You should have no trouble selling your Newport Custom at the price point you are asking IMO (yours is virtually new!). The 1971 Chryslers are my favorite fuselage vehicles made by Chrysler. Good luck on the sale!

This is the one I still have in GJ4 that will be restored to look much closer to your beautiful Newport Custom in the future (but they are only original once - like your Newport Custom!):

Stop whining

Really? Whining? Look at the driver seat bottom in this photo - it raises a question potentially in any interested buyer's mind, at least it did for me, so I thought it should be clarified. And it was, which would help his sale for anyone else that saw it. Apparently you didn't. Thanks for you useful comment - you give the left coast a bad name.

Every nice car that comes on this place gets nitpicked by you and the others like a bunch of old cantankerous men acting like old ladies. Every stain or crack or flaw is determined to be a clue that means the buyer is misrepresenting the car. All of the nannies all have no clue about wear, storage conditions, time and most importantly car people.

It only raises a question in your mind because you think everyone is a fraud selling these cars. Look how you all treated that person with the less than 1000 mile car! You all should be quiet and break your keyboard with a hammer.
