Thise are short rams, the long rams have a longer plenum (easily identified by the long I dent the length of the intake runners. See the attached example

ALL 400 OF THE 300 '63 J CARS GOT THE SHORT RAMS + A ? NUMBER OF 300 '64 K CARS (IF ORDERED) GOT THE SHORT RAMS. ALL THE '60 300F & '61 300G CARS WERE EQUIPPED WITH THE LONG RAMS. And I won't muddy the waters by talking about the MAYBE half dozen or so '62 300 H's That found water cooled short rams "in '62" mounted on 'um and the rest of the 300H cars got dual quad 4bbl. in the north and south configuration, Jer

Are the long rams worth more if found not attached to a car?

Not all 1960-1961 300's were long rams. A very, very small number were built with an optional short ram that produced 400 hp instead of the standard 375 hp.

I wasn’t talking about separating yours from your car but you would be well served to post some pictures of the rest of it though.

Didn't the water feature on those few 300H's serve to operate the automatic choke? I seem to remember reading that in the Chrysler literature. Chrysler had a major problem with both the long and short ram cars rotting out the heat tubes and spring pits for the auto choke. Exhaust gasses would rot out a daily driver in a couple of years. They tried using engine coolant to avoid that problem. Did not work, so very few were built that way.

Photo of water heated short ram attached. Click on mail.pdf, not the icon. Chrysler 300 club has a feature article on this setup. "BIG RED"
