Looks like the C bodies are finally getting recognition...

I love how they praise the Fury, negate all other C-Bodies, and focus more on how "hum drum" they are, but keep going back to the powerplant. As if people need ANOTHER inspiration to rip the drivetrain out of these cars.

I like Hagerty, and have a couple cars insured through them. They have a habit of focusing too much on the monetary value of cars however. It seems that every other write up in their magazine or website revolves around which collector cars are "heating up", which are good to buy or sell right now, or which ones to look out for as potential "investments"....

I don't view my cars like stocks and bonds. Those that do and treat collector cars as such just make it harder for those of us who wish to enjoy them for their intrinsic value.

Ugh...

wait wait wait wait.... I won't be able to retire off the sale of my car?!?!

Pfft. Cheeseheads.

I really like having my cars insured through Hagerty, and SOME of their articles are quite informative. A lot of them (articles) I could do without. Nice (I guess) that they're mentioning SOME C-bodies, but it's only from the attitude of "what to buy if you can't afford a MOPAR muscle car," as though there's no value in them otherwise. Wonder why no mention of Dodge Monaco/Polara or Chrysler Newport/Newyorker or 300. Maybe they consider the 300 as a muscle car. As predicted, size (overall length) is over-stated, and nearly all the attention is on engine size. It WAS nice though to see a 4-door sedan among the photos. Not sure if this article will change anything/matter, other than to bring them on the radar (again) for muscle car types to rape them for their engines; which we know better than any, has led to a bad fate for way.... way..... too many of these cars....

In Comparison, Hemmings Classic Car has been kind to the C-bodies over the years, and from my recollection, doesn't focus on monetary values nor position them as a second choice classic car....

I have always loved Chrysler vehicles. The big boys, with long hoods, big engines and that great ride. I don't need Hagerty to tell me what to keep/sell(dump)/buy. I have been around these cars all my life. What is Hagerty too involved with the auctioneers (Mecum/Barrett-Jackson)? I own a Chrysler, because I WANT a Chrysler. A pleasure, not an investment.

Maybe one day 4 doors will have their time to shine! I took a drivshaft to get rebuilt last week. I called on it tonight to see if it was ready and I told the guy "I dropped it off last friday, the guy with Chrysler." And the guy on the phone knew exactly who I was and was like the burnout you left is somthing i will never forget!! Maybe one day our big cars will get some recognition!

I attended the AACA Grand National a few weeks back in Auburn, Indiana, exhibiting my '64 Imperial Crown 'vert and Richard Lentinello, editor of "Classic Car" magazine was there taking all kinds of photos, including my Imp. In fact, he took a lot of photos of the car and so I asked him when they were finally gonna recognize our Mopars in the magazine; and he told me right then that he instructed his staff to get moving on it for this summer. So down the trail maybe we'll see some good write-ups! Now this might include all matter of Mopar, not specifically our land yacht C's, but hey, I'm up for getting a conversation going on these beauts and for introducing others to Chrysler's works. True, you can pick up some of these for good prices; and certain parts become an issue, but that's an aspect of the hobby with which we call contend. For me though, we're a unique lot and I really enjoy seeing what others here are doing in terms of buying and working on these treasures. This is a great site and knowing that so many folks DO have an interest in these cars is a good thing. Value isn't always found in dollars and cents.
