Yeah it finally happened I've had a wiper fail. I lost the right side wiper on the 74 Monaco. The left works but will speed up slightly it caused me to lose on blade on the way to Washington.

What parts do I need? Some said those plastic things. I'm thinking its the bracket that attaches to the back of the pivot. I've not pulled anything apart yet.

Thanks

If the left one still works, the right side has come loose from the pivot below the wiper arm or it has come loose from the pivot from the wiper motor. Grab a flashlight, you should be able to see the linkage move as you flow the right side wiper arm back and forth thru its range of motion. That should tell you which end of the linkage is loose.

If one plastic bushing has failed, then the rest are close too. Time to pull the arms and redo them all.
Super simple on a Formal. You don't have to worry about the dreaded intermittent wiper bushing on a 74.

Sounds like you’ll need these:

Go to your local Dodge dealer and ask for (4) or is it (6).. can’t remember.. either way.. as Mr.C said, open the Cowl cover and pull the wiper linkage and replace the all..

Honestly, this takes like 30 minutes if you know what you're doing. We can help walk you through it if you need...

Do you have the part number? My 77 New Yorker stopped working a long while back I know it's the bushings

Yup should be no problem at your friendly neighborhood Dodge Dealer ...up here $8 canuckbucks each

Crook Dodge wanted $9 a piece for the bushings. I offered $5 a piece for a whole bag of nine and replaced all of them on both Formal's.
