Odometer quit working

Nothing lasts forever. Ex-wife's 1966 2-d HT Newport's odometer stopped working. Is it impossible to repair? Because it has never made a rollover, it would be fine to get it to a proper condition. It shows now a little bit under 50 000. (49977/30.4.2018)

If the gear has stripped, you will probably hear it clicking as it tries to roll over to the next digit. If it is stripped, you will need a new unit. Try resetting the trip odometer as that sometimes helps free up one that has just stuck.

65 & 66 odometers are notorious for not working. First the trip odo quits and then the regular odometer goes. A good tach and speedo place should be able to fix it.

Thank you guys. I know a good workshop here, so maybe the problem will be fixed. And this one doesn't have a trip odo, just a regular.
