There are a couple of plastic push tabs on the switch where it goes into the bracket. You need to push them in to remove the switch. Since your current switch is dead, you can break the plastic case if you need to to remove it.

Thank you I thought I had to remove something major.. and is it possible to move the brake pedal up more.. I just might add a screw so the switch doesn’t stay on

I can't remember all the years any more, some had an adjusting screw to keep the brake lights from staying on. Field solution was to glue a small piece of inner tube to the switch head to gain tension on the switch if it still works otherwise.

Makes sense.. going to start on it in a few

Ok I tested the new switch to make sure it was working and no only the driver side light turns on and off could it be the turn signal switch blocking the right side to work..
Do all the other lites work especially the turn signal. If the right turn signal doesn’t work it could be as simple as a bad bulb. Also are you sure it worked before you did the change.

When I changed the brake switch it showed that it works but only on the driver side I have a video of it if you want to see.. I did get the turn signal cam replaced about a month ago

And yes the turn signal work..

Sometimes the 4 way flasher switch has bad terminals inside, reset it by turning it on and off and see if that helps. If both tail lights come on, you know the bulb is ok.

It could well be the turn signal switch. However before I made any conclusions I would get a wiring diagram and trace things out. Could be a back connection.

I already change the bulbs.. but I’ll reset the 4way

I hear the flasher that under the ashtray still ticking. What could be the problem? Is the turn signal put in wrong? It in the middle position and it still ticks.. would that be the problem causing the 4 way to not work

You may have a short someplace, given that the turn signal cam was recently replaced, start there. A lot of the after market units are made overseas these days and are very poor quality. Something is probably mis-aligned so that power is still going to the switch with the turn signal switch cancelled. If the flasher is still clicking with the key off, the problem may be in the 4 way flasher unit as it has power to it with the key off. The turn signal switch does not.

Ok I’ll do some more testing in a few to see what could be it.. I know for sure that the brake light switch works.. I’m trying to get this car running again.. might take it to a mechanic soon..

When the emergency hazard switch is on Hazards light flashes only when I take off one of the brake switch connector. What could it be?

I think that’s normal. That is how my car works and it is due to the way it’s wired. Some of these came with an add on dealer option for the flashers that involved installing a jumper harness in the existing harness. This is the result.

Oh ok I’m just trying to figure it out because the turn signals work on both sides but when stepped on brake one side works (right side) and when the hazards is turn on it stay solid unless I remove one of the connectors

Two different circuits operating off of different flashers so they don’t work the same.
