What did you do to your C-body today....

A drum brake master cylinder will have a 10 PSI residual valve that keeps pressure on the wheel cylinders. A disc brake master has 2 PSI residual valve.

Master cylinders are fairly inexpensive. Use the correct one. I don't think your brake guy understands.

I washed the '62 300 and put it back in the garage. 90 degrees and 90% humidity to hot to go for a drive.......

Appreciate the information everyone. I'll speak with him about this another time.

Meanwhile, my exhaust guy finally delivered. We took the car over to the local Cancer treatment center for a display. Patients enjoy checking out the vehicles and bikes. Attendance was spotty due to a brief but heavy downpour a couple hours earlier.

I like big trunks and I cannot lie baby!

I've never understood why so many people are afraid to drive their cars in the rain....heck your gets just as wet when you hose it down for a wash anyways. ;)

Did that once and went inside. When we came out someone was writing down something on a note when I saw the damage. Immediately jumped to conclusions and was somewhat livid with her. Turns out she witnessed a young guy doing figure eights loosing control and hitting my car he then took off. Obviously I was very apologetic and then called the cops. They caught the guy and charged him with a hit and run.

The Boab stays outside all summer long. Plus With the long distance trip I have been doing I will get caught in the rain.
She is not a sugar cube that dissolves in the rain lol.
No big deal.
Why?
As mentioned years ago in my. Barge on a budget build the car has been epoxy primered top to bottom and all seams had been resealed.
Last summer I fixed the window related leaks too.
I have been known to chamois the car off after being caught parked in the rain. If driven in the rain it gets a proper wash.
No blisters or bubbles yet...thanks to all the prep work before paint

Just drive 'em!! We only have them for so long before the next caretaker possess them. I firmly feel that they are meant to be enjoyed and driven. Can't imagine owning a Hemi anything and not having the pleasure of stomping on the loud pedal. Same goes for a slant 6 Valiant....just enjoy them while you have them.

the '65 stays outside 'til the first snow, but i don't drive it on rainy days. figure i'll keep the water out of the chassis and off the underside generally. the '69 stays indoors year round and almost never gets driven. too much trouble to back it out when i can just hop in the '65.

I had several things to do today.
  1. Headlight relays and harness
  2. Oil and filter change
  3. Rotate tires
  4. Lube
  5. Quick rinse off
Then I moved on to other projects.
Changed motorcycle exhaust. Attempted to pull made hose for my Kubota.

Oiled the star wheel on my 68 Fury convert door latches and now they work as intended!
What a great thing.
Now the steering box next week¡

The KYB aren't to stiff?
Put them on my 71 Charger Super Bee, horrible ride. They just beat the crap out of me and the car. Never again.

Replaced the fan and clutch, coil and painted some brackets and the lower shroud. More of the same today.

They are a bit sportier than I was hoping, but these cars don't ride like a new car, not even when they were new.

Does preparing to do something count?

Gathered up all the stuff I need to redo the A/C hoses for the Vintageair on the wagon. Going from leaking crimp fitting hoses to Aeroquip EZ Clip.

Should be blowing snow tomorrow.

I like my Napa labeled Monroes. Car has that "torsion aire" ride and handles fine. New tires and new rear leaf packs will also help.

Wednesday drove it to work, I didn’t quite like the last tune I gave it as it wasn’t starting as good as I wanted. Plus at close to 1,000 miles it is mostly broken in. I took away a little advance, and opened up the idle a little. Now it is starting on the first revolution hot or cold, and idling nice at stop lights. Funny thing, my distributor now lines up with the marks I made many years ago. And is about 10 degrees advanced at about 630 RPM. I think I will leave it there for a while.

I am getting comfortable with it again the posts at work don’t bother me. I love that you can see both front and rear corners from the drivers seat.

Today I started cleaning my garage. I bagged up my old seat covers and foam an put it in the attic. I am not quite ready to throw it out. My carpet will go in the dumpster, but I did cut off a strip that was not faded for future matches. Decided to drive to Auto zone and pick up some detailed spray. So I ended cleaning the car. I am taking it to a small local Cars in the Park show in Pelican Rapids, MN. It will be a nice 60 mile drive. Still don’t have my tail light panel and bezels back yet, but the clear Gorilla tape is still going strong.
