Old Man with a Hat
Woke up early, the humidity broke and the sky was patches of blue with a few clouds. This is going to be a good day, or so I thought. Decided to load my daughters newly purchased dresser in the truck, grab a cup of coffee and make the hour or so trip to her house. Got abt 30 miles from home, sipping my java and had the cruise set at 55 in the ol' Dodge, when bang!!!! The left front tire blows damn near off the rim without warning! Got pulled over without any problems got out and the tread sheared right off the case. It took the left lower trim piece with it. I walked back and recovered the remains of the tire and found the mangled trim in the ditch. No biggie, I'll just throw the spare on......it's then I realized I forgot to put 5 oem lug nuts in the truck just in case I had to change a tire!! Dammit, no lugs nuts and no 13/16 socket for the mag wheel nuts either. Called Julie. No answer, called my friend, he's working, called my sister, she's gone.....finally got ahold of my nephew and he said he'd be headed my way with lugnuts and socket soon. 45 minutes later it's raining and I'm headed home so the dresser doesn't get ruined.
Its not raining at home, so I unloaded the dresser and decided to mow the lawn (we have abt 1.5 acres) as it wasn't raining. Happily mowing along and my neighbor flags me down, he's a good guy and he had a smile on his face and asked if lost something?? With that he showed me the rock my mower launched thru the passenger side window of his work truck. He had just got home , parked it and walked in the garage when he heard the gunshot go thru the window!! Damn! I apologized profusely and he said no worries, **** happens. I decided to finish the lawn and come in the house and take a nap. Hopefully I don't fall out of my recliner......
