My muffler is coming apart. Rattle at idle and too loud driving. I see a ticket in my future if I don’t address this soon. Any recommendations? Thanks.

I would say Flowmaster or Magnaflow. On all of my stepfathers cars, they are Magnaflow's and they sound great. They have a good rumble to them

You make no mention of what your looking for in a muffler except for a replacement. I say you should just stick with a stock one! If you take someone else advice her, I'm sure you will be disappointed with what you choose and blame them for the bad advice.. Good Luck

Today's stock replacement would more than likely be a Walker sound fx or Turbo muffler.
O.e would have been 18230. Sound fx is 17808.
Super Turbo is 17747. Which is the hemi muffler.
Hope this helps

I probably will get something stock. Car is 2BBL, single exhaust, 2.76 rear. It’s not a hot rod. New engine is stock, despite the builder’s attempts to sell me on a hopped up camshaft.

For this application, a walker replacement is a good choice.

Now that you have some ammo, you can always go around town to a couple of muffler shops and play 20 Q's with them on what you want or lookin for. Then you can make a wise decision. Walker and Maremont are the 2 big names, but see what they have to offer. Good Luck

Why is longer better? I don’t know much about mufflers.
The longer those exhaust gases are going through all those baffles and such, the quieter the exhaust note will be. Think of it as a gun suppressor, the longer the suppressor is , the quieter the bang. Good Luck

Sound like a man in Credit Collection! LOL!

Stock muffler installed. Muffler guy said the tailpipe was fine. He did find a leak where manifold and pipe meet. He said the pipe was warped and recommended stacking 2 gaskets.

Took him 20 minutes. $95 total. Reviews said he fast and inexpensive. I am very happy with the muffler.

Muffler dude said it was burned out. Have 2 to stack as he recommended.

Yeah, that gasket's toast. What brand/type of stock muffler did they throw on it?

Turbo but I don’t recall the number. It is on the receipt. Has a slight, mellow rumble but not loud. He said it was as close to stock as he had.

Just finished the double gaskets on the exhaust.
