1963 Chrysler Turbine assembly. Powered by the A-831 gas turbine, body design primarily by Elwood Engle ( note that it resembles his 1961-63 Thunderbird design, except reversed ) Bodies were built by Ghia in Italy. Fifty-five were built: 5 promotional cars, 50 for the Public User Program. They were all painted in a metallic root-beer color called Turbine Bronze. Chrysler began its turbine engine program in the late 1930s.

1958 clay model design study from Chrysler. Not sure if it was for DeSoto or Chrysler. I like the rear treatment. The front is somewhat like the 1962 Plymouth. I don't care for the front. Borrowed this from the forward look group

When the nut doesn't fall far from the tree, get him a 2 horsepower clone!
1958 Desoto Firemite.
74 inches long, 33 inches wide and 19 inches tall; 29 inches if you count the windshield. The engine was a two-horsepower Briggs and Stratton type 6-B; an opening deck lid allowed one to put gas in and start it. There was a kill switch on the rear quarter and another on the dash. The frame was all steel and had a 44 7⁄8-inch wheelbase with two-inch road clearance, and the 10 x 2.75-inch whitewall tires rode on ball bearing rims. Headlamps, horn and two tail lamps per side were run by a pair of six-volt hotshot batteries.
