New Mid-Engine Corvette Revealed This Evening in California - Not Impressed

I guess I'm getting too old. Who needs heated seats, auto braking, side monitoring, TPMS, self driving, etc, etc, etc.
The next-generation is gonna be clueless, at least at driving a vehicle.
And repairing new vehicles is a simple parts changer.
Don't get me wrong, technology is great. But I'm beginning to think technology is ruling us.

I really like heated seats. Sorry, but on a 0 degree winter day, a warm seat makes things so much easier on my old and very beat up bones. Kinda like the TPMS too, but you can keep the other stuff.

Cooled seats, especially on a black interior are great.

Haven't experienced that one yet. I could see where they would be nice. I drove my daughter in law's Ford and freaked out a little when I first touched the warm steering wheel.

I’ve learned to love my heated steering wheel and back-up camera.
Heated and cooled seats I can live without.
Some of the new tech I wonder about.
Like when the little spinner cut me off on the way home from Carlisle. Her new Sonic just barely fit between my bumper and the car I was tailgating, I mean following. If my car had adaptive cruise or that emergency braking feature what happens besides my horn blasting at her?

I have mine set so that the driver's seat heat, and heated steering wheel come on with remote starts.
Same here, but only if it's below 40F when it starts. Above 80 the driver's seat AC comes on. Usually shut the AC off ASAP unless I'm overheating from working too hard and then it really helps cool the old bod down.

Looks to similar to a Ferrari i feel.

According to the video the base price will be in the $60K range. That makes it look better to me, but I still think it looks like an NSX with Ferrari accents.

My focus was on this...

With some weight loss, it wouldn't be as far behind. My stock little 5.0 pulled 1/4 mile .03 faster than a stock Challenger Hellcat.
At 4470 lbs the Hellcat has about a 250 lb disadvantage over the current Shelby. Assuming that differential is maintained in 2020 and since the new Shelby is predicted to run high 10's out of the factory the Challenger needs to go on a diet and or an updated Demon needs to be resurrected.

It's funny they call it "stock," with slicks and skinnies, pulleys, tune, suspension, and driveline upgrades.

Yawn.
I haven’t been visually impressed with a corvette since the last chrome bumper.
