Here's a quote from the guy that took this picture.

"Notice the curves ahead sign! We just came out of those twisties haulin' *** and that big Fury was right on our tail!"

Having ridden the Dragon a zillion times on my Ducati, my hat is off to the fellas wheeling those cars there! Very cool.

Yeah Trace,it was a blast. We had about 27 Mopars, from Adam's NY'er and my GT down to an Omni and everything in between. Two years ago I ran the Dragon with the '57 in my avatar, that was a hoot as well.

While the Tail of the Dragon is fun, I personally prefer Moonshiners 28 and Wayah Rd. The curves are a little more sweeping, more elevation changes, less traffic and no cops. :p

It's on my bucket list to do with the Polara. I've done it 3 times on the Wing but admittedly it was back in May 2012 already.

We did the 28 as well but found it to be a rough and boring ride after the tail
I should have done the 28 first then topped it off with the dragon

I stay in Franklin when up there (from FL) and love to rip 28, 215, 281 and the BRP more that the Dragon. So many amazing roads, but it's the Cherohala Skyway that gets all my love. High speed sweepers, 270 degree switchbacks, several thousand feet of elevation changes....it's the best.

But back to C-bods, I've sliced these roads in my Vette too, so my hat is STILL off to you guys wallowing around these roads.

I have driven it in a modern car, hope to take Goldie through it some day. There is a mountain Inn we stay at not far away on a somewhat regular basis.

When I was driving up the Dragon this kid flew past me in some kind of combination bike, looked more off road but street tires and road in an upright position.

Anyway, he was flying until he met a tractor trailer shortly after he passed me. It was sort of a controlled lay down of the bike, got it but up and reversed and went back down from where he came from. He could have easily been killed.

That’s not too far from me but I have never taken the route.

When the Fury came home with its new engine, I went over the mountain (hwy 74) home. Runs between Fairview and Lake Lure. Not as twisty as the Dragon but a lot of bikers take that route.
