Windows 7

And sometimes that is deliberate to make you buy new software and or hardware.
For instance new chipsets are made so they won't run Win 7 so you must upgrade. Same chipset but its configured so it won't run 7.
Used to be Win 10 was free. Now the chipsets won't run 7.....you must buy Win 10.
Well, Windows 10 was a free upgrade for a LONG time. If a chipset was Win7 compatible before, it still is now.

Unless you have an older Mobo and you still have to find a supporting processor and memory for 3 times more than they were originally going for

Then stop trying to hold on to old, outdated, vulnerable hardware.

Sounds like the days of Windows XP, with 256-512MB RAM sticks. I remember how fancy I thought I was when I installed Windows 3.0 on my 486.

And then I spent hours trying to get the clock image to stay active on screen....... or was that 2.0??

10+ hours? Sounds like you may not be qualified for such a task if it takes you that long. Heck, I can install Win10 in less than 15 minutes from start to finish.

JAAAAAAEEEEZUS I knew I shouldn't have responded to someone that uses Chrome.

"less than 15 minutes from start to finish" Well woopdeefeckindoo, I'll just go out and git me'self one ob'dem newfangled NVMe NAND flash drives and with a Win10 3.0 USB we'll go over to YouBoob for a sub 10 minute install off. muppet

I'har the Corvette does 0 to 60mph in what 3+ seconds?
Great you can get to the traffic backup 1 second before any other SuperCar Hero!
