Well, Windows 10 was a free upgrade for a LONG time. If a chipset was Win7 compatible before, it still is now.And sometimes that is deliberate to make you buy new software and or hardware.
For instance new chipsets are made so they won't run Win 7 so you must upgrade. Same chipset but its configured so it won't run 7.
Used to be Win 10 was free. Now the chipsets won't run 7.....you must buy Win 10.
