1972 Newport with the 400 engine. Through pictures on the internet I cannot tell if my engine paint is Chrysler turquoise or Chrysler blue. I ordered paint from Bill Hursch that was turquoise, but I changed my mind because I thought blue was more correct. I am still unsure. Most of my original engine paint has been redone with a quick-sale rattle can job. There are still some spots that I would describe as turquoise, or maybe aqua, but I believe that it is the Chrysler blue. Does anyone have pictures of the two Hursch colors?

Thank you. Most information I found said 1963-71 turquoise, but then it skipped 1973- 80 something was blue. So I was unsure of what 1972 would be. I'm glad that I had it changed before the paint shipped out!

here is a 75 400 , its blue .

Old thread ,new question. Painting my 69 440 engine turquoise. Painting everything ,intake, heads, pan, etc. How many cans to do the job,2 or 3 cans?
Thanks

Two cans should do it for you. . . I did my '66 440 with two spray cans of Bill Hirsch turquoise paint.

Thanks Rip! Is the Mopar brand paint good also??

A number of folks contributed very useful info about 1970 to 1972 paints and about quantities needed in this thread that I started when running into similar issues when repainting the engine of Medina, my 1971 Monaco.

Chrysler blue, Dupli color makes a spot on version, decent quality, 2 cans especially with valve covers, manifold.
