Whats the one purchase you have always regreted?

First off, Monroe Matic shocks, the absolute worst shocks I've ever owned, after 3 months they were worse then the 7 year old shocks they replaced.

Next, taillight covers I bought, why? I have no idea, I don't even like taillight covers...

Next, mini torch kit, it was $90ish bucks, and had a 1 year warranty, every other week for a year I had to get it replaced because it would either stop lighting, the safety wouldn't release, etc etc etc...currently going on 7 months with a $22 unit...

And last but not least, the Lincoln Mig Pak 180....I had one last almost a year and another almost 2 hours....both bought brand-new......I bought a used 15 year old Lincoln Mig Pak 15 and I've been using and abusing it daily almost for a year and a half....

So $1800 worth of brand new welders were replaced by a $150 used welder.

I ****-canned my Lincoln I hated it so bad. My welding never improved using it.
Bought that 99 dollar POS from Harbor Freight to replace it. My welding improved a 1,000%...
I've come to the conclusion new Lincoln's are garbage....the 15 year old MIG PAK 15, I got from a shop who was convinced it was pooched because it wouldn't feed. I replaced the whip and it will run a bead better then the new ones ever did.

I picked up another old Lincoln recently for a song and dance, a Square Wave 175 TIG for $200.....put a plug on it and she works beautiful...

for me it is a 95 cummins 12 valve motor and nv4500 4x4 trans back in 2007 then came the 71 f250 from oregon to put it in, that never happened then came the 02 super duty crew cab from my neighbor with a bad motor and guess what the super duty still has a bad motor in it and the 12 valve still sits in somebody else garage. now when i get ideas about doing something they stay as ideas. at least the 71 f250 if i sell it i could at least break even the other 2 it would be a hell of a loss

A New & used Honda Motorcycles, ran it long enough to get it broken in, then with it running at highway speed for awhile the vibration caused one of the muffler guards mounts to break off. I removed the guard as it was only for the passenger but leaving the small mounting stud hole open caused it to run lean and burn out the valve in that cylinder.
In shop for warranty for a month of prime riding season, then something else broke leaving it dead, can't remember what but I think it was something electrical (small) did a trains, & buses to get to another Honda dealer for the minor cost of the part to get quickly back on the road. Leaving the Honda dealer I stopped in the Harley Dealer a block or two down the road and inquired about the Sportsters in the window, (all sold out). a month or so later the crank bearing blew up and had to go back to the dealer for the warranty repair. In the mean time I get another motorcycle, and when the Honda came out of the shop the friend that had my first 1968 PK21 wanted to do a partial trade with the Honda, I didn't but I did, and he blew it up in a month and I got stuck with helping him pull the engine and 'Split The Cases' so to say. 2nd Honda I acquired (used) I broke the crankshaft on that one, wasn't really Honda's fault as it had a 836 kit in it with a sick cam built by some legendary 'Hill-climber' and the constant shifting it at the neutral indicator light (12 grand) would stress the crankshaft if you didn't lighten and re-balance the alternator. (learned later)

I just took the alternator out and ran it race bike total drain type.
Another used Honda I broke the cam in it as during high rev's and hard use the cam saddle bolts would strip out causing the cam saddle to lift and loose all oil pressure. I later learned the race bike builders would heli-coil those threads during a engine build.
I like the way the Honda's handled but the maintenance on them was just too much.

I finally got a Harley and without altering my riding 'style' was breakdown free (yes they were AMF's) well past when I got my 100,000 mile pin.

It's got to be the '79 Cordoba I bought at an estate sale. In '97, I got it for $1,500 with 19,000 miles on it. I have a cliche I say every now and then: There are two ways to kill a car, don't take care of it, and don't drive it. I gambled that the latter was not true for this car. It was!

I bought it for two reasons. 1) So that i could park the '62 New Yorker that I was using as my daily driver, and finally start doing some work on it. 2) With a 360 4bbl motor, I needed a car that would tow our Coleman Williamsburg trailer since I had sold the Fifth Avenue. To that end, it served well!

But other than that, it was the biggest POS I've ever owned. In the two years that I had it I put over $2,500 into it. That meant I had no money to put on the '62! I did sell it for 2 grand, with 46,000 miles on it. So, it did get me where I wanted to go in those two years, but sheesh!!! Every time I went somewhere something broke!

Really? I was considering buying a CB750. Wanted to try my hand at making a custom bike!
