Hello All,

I am looking for some trim. My Dad has a 70 Polara convertible that he finally finished obtaining all of the super-lite components. However the grill does not have the stainless steel trim that outlines the perimeter. I was hoping someone on here would have a spare left grill section with that trim piece still on it...?

Thank you

Welcome..... The trim is a separate part number from the grille halves. I also believe that there are at least two pieces of stainless trim on each grille half.

Tell us about dads car.

Well its a 70 polara convertible, F8 green with that two tone green interior and a white top. He put in a 440 four barrel, 727 going to a 3.23 posi (originally a 383 2 barrel going to a 2.76' open rear end). It has the tilt wheel with the rim blow steering wheel, a/c, split bench with drivers power, rear seat speaker, AM 8-track, cruise control, and the 15' road wheels. And hopefully the super-lite soon.

I was aware that it was two pieces of trim. We recently found one half of it on Ebay and cant for the life of us find the other half. So I was hoping someone had a full left grill section that might have some decent trim on it still

Is the trim piece you are looking for the inner or outer piece. I have an NOS piece but not sure which piece it is, I'll have to look.

Is your dad named Ryan?

I would actually have to check... I am not sure.

My Dad's name is Tom, however the Ryan I know has a 70 Polara as well, green with the green interior and white top. That Ryan?

I think the part I have is the inner part....again, I will have to check the part and number.

Yeah, that Ryan. Very similar to the description of your car.
I have a photo of Ryan's car and another with similar VINs.... I will send you a PM

Ryan still has his. He left it parked in his garage for too long and I got him to finally get it out again. He has been enjoying it ever since

Thanks! If you have photos that you can share, that’d be great!

So this is the only picture I have of Ryans on hand:

It still has its original 383 2 barrel. Its an A/C car. At one point the am/fm radio was installed, with a tilt telescope steering column with the rim blow. It was originally tan but the receiving dealership decided a tan car with a green interior with a white top would be a hard sell, so sometime in the 70's or 80's it was painted the color it wears today. Depending on if he wins the lottery he would like to paint it back to the original color.

Did ya ever find it?

Yes I did eventually find the trim piece! the grille and super lite are install on the car currently. I just need to find the time to install the switch and wire everything up.
