Wow, Toms River was a quiet township back in '69. I lived in the Bayshore section. Mostly seasonal(summer only), there were 20 houses between Elizabeth Ave and Bayshore Dr, and 4 of us were year round. You could drive on Rt. 37 in the winter and be one of the few cars on the road. That started to change in the '80's, by the time we moved north in the late '90's, my neighborhood was 100% year round residents and Rt 37 was and is now always full of cars. My cousin still lives on my old street, he misses the '80s and earlier.

Not much Need for high Speed pusuit with these whitewalls in this quiet neighborhood back then I guess.
