Only known pic of my ‘64 Falcon V8. You can almost make out the human skull on the hood...

I can’t find a picture of it.. I’m certain I don’t have one... the least romantic first car relationship ever; a 1987 Buick Skylark. Got my license one day, got the car the same day. Drove it to the pharmacy the next day and turned it off. Something didn’t feel right as it shut down so I went to crank it over... NO compression. I mean NO compression on ANY cylinder. It was on the scrap heap the next day. 118,000 miles.

81 Caprice wagon with scalops and 2x4s in the rear coils, oh and 5 foot CB antennas on the luggage rack. Pretty normal for my town!

No Mopars in my early ownership I'm afraid.
1995 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale, white with blue velour interior. Got it when I was 15 and my grandpa on dad's side passed, had definitely been used and abused before I came into ownership, but it was on that car that I learned to do oil and filter changes, spark plugs and wires, brakes, coolant flushes, etc. Still was a heap but it ran well enough for the 2-3 years I owned it and that 3800 series II V6 outran a few of my classmates much newer, sportier cars at the stoplights (an 05 GTI and a older Civic Si if I remember correctly). It finally got so bad that I had to sell it for parts. A neighbor passed away around that time and I was in need of wheels, so off the estate I bought a one owner, two-tone dark gold and sunflower yellow 1980 Ford Granada with only 44,000 km's (27,500 miles) still rolling on original dealership tires... but that's another story.

The first car I bought with my own money was a ‘73 Dodge 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive camper special. It was an x-government/military truck. I think off the local reserve base. I don’t think I owned it that long and I don’t remember what I did with it...
Mopar man my entire life. ATTACH=full]310700
Ditto, same here.

My first driving car was a 68 New Yorker Fast top. She looked exactly like this (colour wise) but stock wheel covers and whitewalls and tired paint.

I still have a soft spot for 68s.

70 "The Green Hornet"..... Sort of... Not this one but it looked the same, three on the tree straight six and a gazillion miles on the clock.

First car I owned was also gifted to me.
A 66 light blue Ford shaggin' wagon with a 352 2 bbl.
I was dumb and tore out the bench seat for a pair of Mustang buckets & added a set of 14" Cragar rims
The coolest thing was the engine cold light that would fade out then a green light would show up indicating it was warm.
I then later that year blew out the transmission & quoted $1,200 to rebuild it back in 79 which meant it was destined for the scrap heap...

Love all the various first cars.
When we were 18 it didn’t matter what it was. It was your own!

1969 roadrunner 383 magnum 727 auto console buckets black interior red exterior slotted rims , man I loved that car second was a 1973 charger se 400 727 auto console buckets but the dark green kinda sucked at that time man I wish I had them now the Mopar Love affair never stopped

1974 Plymouth Ruster, 225 slant 6, auto. Yellow with a black top, black side stripe and black vinyl interior and an advanced stage of Detroit cancer. Picked it up for $100 the night of Halloween after work at the roller rink. Was told numerous times by Dad to "sweep your car off the driveway." First order of business was to replaced the AM radio with a Realistic AM/FM tape deck (I still have the Mopar AM). Cardboard in front of the radiator to generate heat, had to watch it on left hand turns for stall outs due to the carb floats and after a while, no reverse, so I had to park nose out with a clear path. My tools were a hammer under the front seat to wack the starter relay when it would act up and a long screwdriver to hold the carb open. Knew enough not to put a lot of $$$ into her, learned a lot about old cars that year. Finally the frame rusted through at the torsion bar. It was able to limped its way to the junk yard and got $50 for her.

My dad picked up I believe a 1984 Plymouth Horizon for me to drive from my uncle. It needed a timing belt if I remember correctly. It only lasted 3 months before I totalled it, yikes.

First car I bought a 1984 Mercury Cougar. It was a nice looking piece of junk, sold it 6 months later.

First real car was my first 68 NYer in 1994. I had no intention of buying it when I went to look at it. I just wanted to meet the guy. When i told my parents what I bought my dad laughed and said I always did like big cars.
