Went to an "Orphan" car show today. All cars no longer produced. There was a Studebaker club in town too and part of their activities was to attend this annual show.

I parked next to the twin Barracuda. My car is on the left.

Very cool!! There's a show locally here that is for discontinued marques only. Usually some pretty nice stuff attends.

Never have seen that many Avantis in one place at one time! Neat!

The picture of the darker Barracuda on "the grass" looks like it could have been in a premium Plymouth sales brochure that year. Neat, too! Great pictures. Thanks for sharing them with us.

It is mind boggling how many decent car companies "bellied - up"....
Packard, Hudson, Studebaker, Edsel , Rambler , and more had some truly beautiful cars!!!
A show like that is a much attend event -- just to get the "spice of life" so to speak.... We have an orphan show here on Long Island -- and I like to attend for just that reason -- some cars you just don't see every day.

My friend has a 1957 Rambler Ambassador that is absolutely drop dead gorgeous --- they just didn't sell like the "big boys" -- and it is a shame, because it is very stylish....

Thanks for posting those pictures -- it is nice to see how the other side also drives!!!

Technically eligible now -- I don't think an Olds Toronado is supposed to be there -- but, hey, I guess now it is eligible.....

Not to mention every Pontiac, Olds, Plymouth and Mercury ever built.

The Renault Caravelle is the cuckoo in this nest. This marque still exists in a rather strong condition in Europe.

Definitely one of the few Shows I would have attended as well, that theme is meant for some interesting machinery and keeps the (for me) completely uninteresting newer stuff almost completely out. I always had a soft spot for the cars ranking below the Big Three from back in the day.

Personally I'm attending my second Show for this year today and it will be the second to last one except for a few swap meets.

Another fine argument for Imperial ownership

There was one of them Studebaker Champion bid'ness coupes that attended our local Dodge truck gathering last spring....I fell in love with it. The two pictured above are '50s, this one is either a '51 or '52...or '53?

No DeSotos ?
I think there was at least one early fifties DeSoto there, but I didn't get a chance to photograph everything. There was a '65 Imperial there too, but I see that all the time, so it didn't get a pic.

I think there was a bigger turnout than they expected and parking got a bit confusing. It wasn't helping that we had so much rain the past week that some of the field wasn't usable. It got a little tight where I was parked, and even tighter in other areas so it was hard to take pics of everything.
